This came from another thread but I think this deserves its own... here is the post:

Ok guys, break out your NTSC discs and lets race the SRT people. They should be coming to the race chat around 8:30 EST to do some Expert Suzuka 550pp RWD.

Funny thing is that if GT5P had damage, the shootout would have been a lot closer.

We're not going anywhere.. We'll be doing GT5 vs Forza 3 as well.

Stay tuned for episode 40 and you will see what was cut out about us mentioning GT5 as Prologue.. Call it what you want. It's a full game that sold and made probably at least 100 million dollars. All they will add are a few more tracks and make another 100 million.

Please point us to a racing title that we should have used to compare Forza against that is on the PS3.

These so called "experts", and yes we're using that term quite liberally, are hardly what they claim. Not in one single section of footage did I see ANY "expert" driving. I saw ramming, off tracks, retarded braking (and lack thereof), horrible lines, and even CHASE CAM!? I think you guys should stick to Burnout and similar arcade games because it's clear that you suck at driving. Which makes me wonder why you're reviewing racing sims? I bet you even use Standard physics with assists... so noob.

that would be kind of overkill, dont you think? besides we have enough heavy hitters to handle things on this end :sly:
 
So this is all because you saw some footage of them messing around in some cars offline? While I don't have any personal experience with racing these guys myself, they have been invited to race with many online racing leagues and I haven't seen any complaints come up. Additionally, if you look at any of their other videos, you'll see that they are quite competent racers. I just hope they don't think you speak for the whole of GTPlanet when you say they should solely consider arcade racers. :indiff:

I spoke for myself, not GTPlanet... GTP didn't come up until I told them where to meet... they said send an email but we all know email wont work to configure a race in GT5p. And I figured why steal all the fun for myself...
 
:lol: I'll be in the chat around that time. I just hope they show. :) I guess I'll have to work on getting a FAST car tuned, as I've been driving slower cars around Suzuka that are only capable of 17-18 second laps. The Clio should do the job :sly:
 
I'll prolly use the NSX, isn't really my fastest car/tune but it should be sufficient. Going to install a new coolant temp sensor in my Z, along with replacing all the vacuum lines when I get home so I wont have much time to get warmed up for the race... I'm really not sweating it though ;)

They didn't show up. I would like to meet them on the track for sure. I hope they come next time.
 
those guys have years of real sim racing experience. dont get me wrong but i have seen some horrible gtp taged racers but i have seen some really fast ones also. it all comes down to actual skill and " seat time" so depending on how long the person has been playing the game and how much skill the person has will determine the winner.

i find it hilarious some of the gt FANBOYS that are so upset over a GREAT VIDEO these guys put on. As it was JUST THERE OPINIONS OF THE GAME. SHAME on anyone that had something negative to say about that comaprison as it was just there opinion and dont mean squat....

some of the gt FANBOYS need to relax as there both just GAMES haha acting like its some serious business

Its a review posted on the internet... en YES its THEIR opinion... but people here have an opinion as well... and they have the right to voice it as well... I agree theres some fanboys but come on... Why cant people give their opinion about the video if they want too... and in MY opinion the video wasnt that good at all... aside from the fact of the footage shown with them driving. In the end its a game... but there seem to be people who take it seriously as well...

They just didnt check Youtube.com because they were pooping their pants... :lol: Nah, but seriously do you think they would show up? Too bad I dont have NTSC... :indiff:

I call BS.


I've posted another comment AND emailed them... no excuses this time.


EDIT: Can't snag an NTSC disc? Also: TA was smoking fast last night... He was nailing 2:14's consistently, and I think he broke real close to 2:13, NOT HUMAN!

-edit: I wouldnt know where to get an NTSC disc from on this short notice... I can check at the second hand game shop maybe... but I wouldnt know.. and yes, TA is very quick :) Almost Alien in that manner... :lol:

Like I said earlier, I really don't give a rats you know what when it comes to their pathetic/noobish review of Forza 2 and GT5P. I wouldn't mind shutting them up when they implied that GT5P and the PS3 community lacks any talented/skilled drivers though :lol:

Alright, been talking with Darin from the show, he says they have an rFactor race at that time and asked about the weekend. I've replied with a lengthy post and I'll let you guys know the NEW (once again) date/time... Lets try to have some good turn-out.
 
Do these guys run a SRT tag? I raced a extremely slow guy, named srtneon I think, but I assumed he had a SRT neon.
 
I believe so. I recall racing a guy by the name of SRT_Speedy back in the 750PP days. He was quick but nothing extraordinary.
