i'll go break out my honda nsx,
 
All I can say, I was there, they were not. Regardless there were a few out last night and I got in a couple o' good races in.
 
Still no response from them ona definite day/time...

I smell chicken.
 
OK, Got a response finally!

SUNDAY, 6:00PM EST (note that it is NTSC)

So who will be here? TA? Vaxen? Blitz?
 
I have US version, but I have not play in long time, and I suck big time now :(
 
I dont have NTSC JD... Sorry man, I would love to be there! :) and if I could get my hands on an NTSC disc I WOULD be there...

Actually, you posted it at 1:14pm EDT (Eastern Daylight Time). We are under Daylight Savings Time in most areas of the US, including, apparently, wherever you are at the moment.
 
Is there a point to daylight savings time anymore, besides confusing the hell out of everyone? (sorry for the off-topic)
 
Can't we all use Mayan Calendar so we can be more accurate?
 
Phoenix AZ area (Valley of the Sun) doesnt use Daylight savings time. Any time used by GT or anyone else uses Easten Standard Time, doesnt matter what time of the year it is just go by New York City's time. And on the thread topic, Ill definately be racing at 6:00 P.M. EST on sunday. Is someone going to be Kyle Busch, or am I going play his role? Ill take it gladly if no one else nut's up.

Also I would suggest doing all Pro races not just the 550pp event, F430 ,High Speed Ring and the 600pp AWD races are all good test of driving ability and car tuning in the respective races.

Well the thing is that they don't play this game much so don't have time to work out tunes for every event... He's already asking me which car he should use in the 550pp...

I'm thinking of telling him to use the NSX...

We'd like this to be as fair as possible. I'd just tell him that the Clio is the dominant car.
 
You guys are a crack up.. Thanks to those in this thread that defended us..

But lets get down to some business here and now I can speak for myself..

First off.. I accepted the challenge 2 days ago and have not heard from Jason since.. I did see in this thread that tomorrow is good, but of course he never got back to me with what of the 12 or so cars is competitive. ;)

I started thinking about it and this should be about our driving ability and now how much I can squeeze out of an NSX or Clio ;-)

Speaking of driving ability.. Neither of us ever said that GT5P racer couldn't drive. Without practice and tuning, I've had my ass handed to me in a public race.

So.. FYI.. we love GT Planet and GT5 Prologue.. I wont get into the debate again here about demo, prologue, etc.. Maybe JD can post some of my comments that I emailed back to him stating the PS3 is my favorite console and that I hope GT5 kicks Forza 3s ass.. But without damage, our scoring system will favor Forza.

So back to the race we have setup.. How about we do it in one car, or an online event that favors the driver over the tuner.. I can drive..but can't tune for crap.. I'd have to postpone the event for a year if I needed to tune my car properly ;)

Darin, if you want me to defend you, defend me. I said that noone here "hates" you and whatnot, and I think I was more than friendly. As for the best car its really up to how you drive, NSX or Clio are usually the dominant cars... I've seen NSX's beat clios and vice-versa... I wouldn't give you incorrect information.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you, had the clutch go out in my DD Z so I've been working on that all day yesterday, I planned to make a nice big response to you. Also I just learned that the right side o2 sensor is bad in the same Z so I'm about to fix that.

You can find good tunes for the cars at various places around the web, including here at GTPlanet.

Here are a few samples:
Dutch Customs 550pp Clio

There are a few other tunes that can be found in our GT5:P Car Tunings & Settings forum.

For our race(s), I would prefer that everyone participating show up with exactly 550pp, and let the start order be random.

Only PRO race that requires nothing but driver ability and no tuning is the F430 at Fuji. If driver ability is only thing you guys want to measure, a Ferrari on N1 tires with no tuning available is the only way. F430 Fuji F430 Fuji!!!!!!!

I did a free run last night, and it's quite challenging. And with the stock tune there is still a lot of suspension play, which I like, you actually feel the car hopping at the limit of adhesion. Braking at the end of the straight will be tricky with a full grid on N1 tires from 165 mph. I don't know if I will be able to make it tomorrow, as family will be here for Easter, but if there's a chance, I will be there, just name the race. 👍

I'm all for the f430 race but you have to let me know now... N1's super slick and take a good bit to get used to them.

550 RWD is cool with me.. I like those cars.

Bought the NSX and tweaked it a bit and was easily in the 21s.. I thought you guys were joking about that car, had no idea it would be one of the fastest there.. Makes sense with the restrictions though.

Is there a "Type R" NSX as well ?

I'll check out those dutch tunes as well.. see if I can get into the 19s.. Thanks for the links

Also.. tomorrow at 6 est isn't good.. I forgot it was Easter Sunday.

I'd be up for something later today or early tomorrow.

Looks like we just met up JD.. That Ramner guy pushed me off the road as I passed or that would have been a good race.. I was able to cut your lead to about 7 seconds after I recovered from my spin..

BTW.. I found the Type R.. it was Honda..doh..lol
 
Yea I seen ramner bump you off the track, sucks, I was looking forward to a nice run with you. Either way what I did see was good driving from you though so 👍

He gave me a bit of a hassle on my pass of him, ended up having to go inside hard at the chicane to get by him, after that it was smooth sailing, wasn't pushing it too hard. I saw you catching up to him on the map and was hoping you'd take him before the finish.

Either way, good race!

EDIT:

Oh and I have 2 Z32 Nissan 300zx's. My red one is an NA and the charcoal one is twin turbo...

FYI- the winner will be running in the 2:15 range, I have 4 people on my friends list that run Clio's on R1 that are super consistent at that speed, thus, I never win. lol. Good luck fellas.
 
Actually TA will be around and he consistently puts down low :14's... the dude is an alien.
