Race the 'Sim Racing Tonight' people...

Damn, yet again our race spoiled by a crappy driver... who the hell brakes at turn 3? California driver... that's who.

Yeah I saw that one coming.. I backed off at the start and let you guys tangle.. Once I got by it was smooth sailing..

GT Ace.. Yes I did review the game, but didn't buy every car. I got through my S license with basically what I needed to.

Now I own just about every car in that 550 P competition. lol

Looks like I need to try the Clio since I was the only one of 4 cars in that last race running the NSX-R

1:15s..man thats crazy.. I ran a low 19 on my last lap of that race.

But lets get down to some business here and now I can speak for myself..

First off.. I accepted the challenge 2 days ago and have not heard from Jason since.. I did see in this thread that tomorrow is good, but of course he never got back to me with what of the 12 or so cars is competitive.

I started thinking about it and this should be about our driving ability and now how much I can squeeze out of an NSX or Clio ;-)

Speaking of driving ability.. Neither of us ever said that GT5P racer couldn't drive. Without practice and tuning, I've had my ass handed to me in a public race.

So.. FYI.. we love GT Planet and GT5 Prologue.. I wont get into the debate again here about demo, prologue, etc.. Maybe JD can post some of my comments that I emailed back to him stating the PS3 is my favorite console and that I hope GT5 kicks Forza 3s ass.. But without damage, our scoring system will favor Forza.

So back to the race we have setup.. How about we do it in one car, or an online event that favors the driver over the tuner.. I can drive..but can't tune for crap.. I'd have to postpone the event for a year if I needed to tune my car properly

But yeah.. I think I was the first Spark into the whole GT5P vs Forza you guys did.. I posted your video and.. yeah many GT fans did not like it, some liked the VS video. For me I respected the video because like you guys mention Damage and lack of content kept GT in the dark from wining.

But yeah after I posted the video here in GTP, many players got outraged and started to flame you guys a bit that you can't drive in game with chase cam.. etc etc. LOL Now we see this thread. HAH I hope you don't see us as GT freaks everyone complains once in a while..


Hmm may I suggest you guys race with same cars same tires without any AIDS (Abs on if you like ) and no tuning allowed on Professional events?

That way you can can really tell who is a better driver

At this point it isn't really about who is the better driver, I've seen him racing now and he is good. I was wrong to assume he wasn't a good driver based on the VS footage. At this point its just all in good fun

However I believe there are a few more people around here that want to run with em.

Yeah.. I saw the thread and know people were p.o'd.. Was to be expected.

Im up for running anything really.. I think I proved myself today though

BTW.. I run in cockpit view, all aids off except ABS with just 1. Also was using a Fanatec 911 Turbo wheel with 6 speed shifter. I wasn't using the clutch though.

I'd turn ABS off but it feels the most real to me. Without it the brakes lock instantly with this setup.

14s at 550pp Suzuka? NO WAY! I just cracked the 18s last night in an NSX Type R. And I had an M3 breathing down my neck. I'll have to try an M3 tune on Suzuka. Prior to running a tuned Type R, my times were into the 20s. What car can break into the 14s?

The Clio is capable of 14's, actually high 13's in the right hands. FAK_EV1L has also gotten the RX-8 into the 14's as well, so I'm sure there are plenty of other cars that are capable of getting into the 14-15 second range 👍

This is my problem I could be faster but i will never use R tires in low PP races it straight overkill IMO. Sometimes i get so tempted to use the clio, but i know i would not be satified using the best car in low pp races. So i stick with the FD, anyway sorry to get off of topic those are great times!

It killed me, my 3 year old daughter had a melt down, and was watching a DVD lying on the couch with a bottle, and didn't get up 'til about 9:40. I couldn't login 'til about 10, and stayed around 'til about 12:30am. Suzuka went dead, so I ran a couple of times in the FD Fuji 550pp event, that's a good event also. Maybe next time...

I don't know, I tuned a Clio with R1 tires, and the hit you take in weight and power is prohibitive in my less than knowledgeable opinion.

Not a bad car, you'll find it a bit underpowered but the handling is superb.

I have sorta the same internal battle with myself as well, I'd rather be pushing a Skyline 370GT or a 350z but I got tired of NSX's and Clio's whooping up on me.

I also started out with the skyline, but she seems to be too heavy for Suzi550. I try my best to keep up with my fellow clio's, but I eventually gave in. So what we did was just a bunch of Clio's racing against each other. White knucke racing everytime...👍

I always use the clio as I drive one IRL (not the v6 though ). It is a very nice to drive car with very predictable reactions. now I am somewhat competitive on-line, but after reading this made me realize it was probably the car not me.

It won't be the car, if find a bunch of other clio's to race against. At that point, it's about the driver and the tuner..
