I attended the US GP of 1984 at Dallas, Texas. It was hotter than a pistol at 104 degrees Fahrenheit.

Poor Martin Brundle crashed his Tyrrell in practice and did himself serious injury. Warwick's Renault led early but wrecked. Lauda and Prost drove the smoothest and should have won, but both hit the wall and retired with flats or damaged suspension. Piquet stuffed his Brabham into a slot in the wall right in front of me. Mansell in his Lotus made it to within yards of the finish, but collapsed in a heap beside his car while trying foolishly to push it over the line in the Texas sun. Rosberg (Williams) kept his cool and was the winner.

2005-12 Brickyard 400
2006-07 US GP at IMS
2008-13 Red Bull Indianapolis GP

There are other races, but I can't remember them at all.
I was there with @ranhammerR34 for the 2011 500. :)

I have also attended a CART race at Nazareth Speedway back in the 1990's along with a card of Modified and Late Model racing at Grandview Speedway back then. I have also gone to the NHRA Keystone Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway a few times in the first decade of that event. My favorite memory of going there was witnessing the first side-by-side 4 second quater-mile Top Fuel race by Joe Amato and Shirley Muldowney. :D

PLANNED RACES/ WISH LIST:

2016: 100th Indianapolis 500 (Indy Car Series Race) (Indianapolis Motor Speedway)
That I would like to do too.:)

I think the only race event I've been to thus far is the Silverstone Formula 1 GP in 2011. Arrived in a mud bath on Thursday, camped out at Stowe around six and a half hours before the race on Sunday, and managed to return home with both sunburn and a cold.

I've been to...
Sandown 500 and 360 for the V8 Supercars (2004, 05, 06, 07, 08, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14)
L&H 500 at Phillip Island (2009)
Bathurst 1000 (2008)
Some Sprint car racing (2002)
Sandown Historics (unsure which years I've been)
Le Mans 24 Hour (2010)
Australian GP (2007, 2008, 2009)

I don't really go to many motoring events. Only one I remember going to is this hillclimb event with some really awesome cars. There was M3's Escort's, Sierras, Formula 3000, Heavily modified Mini Coopers, Triumphs and even some fast bikes.

If you haven't booked a hotel yet for Knockhill let me know there's one near by that gives discounts for members of race teams.

I couldn't even begin to list how many races I've been too, hard to keep track when most of your friends run race cars

Hotel?

:D

I was planning on camping, there was a pretty good site on a farm that was near to a town somewhere in the area that I've stayed before, but I haven't decided yet. Knockhill, thanks to it's distance, comes with additional travel expenses, my budget is already worn out for the year and I've still got things to book - 3 nights in a hotel on top of 750 miles of diesel and a night or two stop of in the lakes makes it quite expensive, though if the discount is reasonable I'd appreciate the offer.

My college campus had a forklift race yesterday, if that counts...
Speaking of college campus, I know it's not a motor race, but has anyone here ever gone to see the Little 500 bicycle relay race on the campus of Indiana University? I remember that race was the backdrop for the movie Breaking Away and saw a running of that race on TV sometime in the '80's.
