Hi!

EDIT by mod - Editing this post in here with all the info

Hey!

I read this forum since I play GT5, so I guess it's about time to contribute! Mods, if you think I misplaced this thread, please move it to picture section. I placed it here because it's not about the pictures alone but also about the stats.

I bought/made all Race Mod cars. All cars come out white after modding. The ones in the pictures are all custom painted. Some have painted and/or custom rims, most don't.

I raced some of them, so the kw amount may be off by 1 or 2 kws on some for engine wear but not more.

All cars have all possible upgrades installed.

I put the max downforce (wing setting) as a reference because I suspect, the 'grip' formula is something really simple like weight/downforce + tire factor or something like that - i.e. the higher those numbers, the more grip, the higher the curve speed.

All race mod cars drive well and are fun in their class. You won't win 'Like the Wind' with the Suzuki but it's a fun to have car anyways.

The Corvettes have secondary colors (white on the new one, silver on the old one) and some of the cars have black details. You can't change those (at least I havn't figured a way out to do that).

You can change the number on the car from 1 to 99 on all race mod cars. There are 4 different fonts.

I'm in Europe, so units are kw/Nm/kg. If you need to convert those, wikipedia is your friend and there are probably online calculators somewhere. Google.

Since we are talking about plenty of pictures here, I made thumbnails. Click those in this thread to get to the full sized picture (links go to photobucket.com).

To show off a bit and as a reference I also put the X1 you win at BSpec lvl 35.

MFW = Maximum Front Wing setting; MRW = Maximum Rear Wing setting.

So here we go:

Pretty sure the only cars with Racing Modification are the ones with RM on the end of the name. Check the official car list and there are a few with the tag RM on it. So far it only seems like those

are you kidding me!!! They bring back a feature people have asked for ever since it vanished after GT2 (right?), and they limit it to 15!!!!!!!! cars out of +1000.... FIFTEEN!!! why bring it back at all!?

Hi!

Now i have a few cars in my garage and on no car i can use the racing modification :grumpy:

my cars are:

Lamborghini Gallardo LP560
Nissan GTR 07
Toyota FT86 Concept
Nissan Fairlady Z08 Z34
Nissan Fairlady VersionS Z33
VW Golf V GTI05

Looks like the racing modification is not available for many cars!

What cars do you have with racing modification??? (pics were fine!)

Ciao joe8

Well, how many of those cars can have Spoilers and Lips with adjustable Downforce? This is something I really want to know. As for Racing Mods, only 15 or so cars have them.

Its also about 1.5% of the cars in the game are available for race mods. WOW, thanks PD! Keep rolling out those AWESOME features!

As I said, 15 is better than 0, would you prefer there to be 0? I wouldn't and I don't see why you would either? people complained that the feature was gone so they tried to bring it back and now it is back people complain there isn't enough cars with it on! they really can't win can they?

But dude how would you feel if you got laid 15 times every 1000 days? Just dosent make sense, i thought at least all premium cars should have RM.

no, the ones with RM in the name are the ones that are already race modified by PD

Considering it's on less than 20 cars, I wonder why they didn't just put the RM cars into to the corresponding manufacturers dealership. Like the 'LM' cars in previous GTs.
You know, that's what they did in every game so far, this feels a little like "oh look, it's a feature now!"

But I still like the fact that we can, at least, get some RM cars. Fingers crossed for more to be added later on via DLC. That way, it would at least make sense as a feature.

I've owned all the Gran Turismo games, and ended up loving them all. I just wish they would have picked just ONE of the updates to the series and followed thru. Actually, I take that back, they got the physics correct from everything I've read. Kudos for that.

But, the rest seems cobbled together. Race mods for a tiny percentage isn't really a feature per se, in fact it doesn't seem like 'trying' at all. Changing rims for only 20% of the available cars? But don't worry, they've already won as I preordered at Best Buy today!

Here is a list of the cars that are raced mod.

Wow, that's a bit of a disappointment. I thought there was gonna be a lot more than just 17 cars to apply racing mods too. But then again, there are a lot of tuner cars (RM already applied).

It's still a step in the right direction, besides a lot of the cars you can't race mod still have body kits available for them.

Yes I'd have liked more cars to have race mods but I'm happy we've got these ones at least, race modded cars are still essentially a new car to the standard one.
