I am using the toyota minolta car, but everytime it gets near the 220 mph mark, it starts goin left to right, I have no control of the steering. Is there a setting secret here?

What are you using? DS2? GT Drive Force wheel? Drive Force Pro wheel?

There are some control issues with the very high horsepower Prototypes on long fast straights, especially with the DS2 and older Logitech wheels. The Drive Force Pro, with it's progressive rate 900º mode doesn't experience this problem. If you aren't using a DFPro, you'll just have to try and keep it straight. Not an easy task, I realize, but the only other solution is to get a DFPro.

i had the same problem, i used a minolta, and it sucked like nonsense. i used a polyphony dig. car, or the Nissan RC92, i bought it for 1.2mill

I found that driving with the D-pad helps at high speeds with the Minolta. Once you get up to 400km/h in that car you either have to use the D-pad or B-spec.

Use a road car that'll do ~235mph. Cien, Speed 12 etc. You'll get 200 A spec points too. :D

I used a standard Nissan R89C last night. I took all the wing off and put R1 tyres on. 237mph average, 125 points, easy as you like.

DS2 as well...

This post again?

Use the body refresh for 50k that'll straighten her out

Yeah, if it won't drive straight you need the rigidity refresher plan like Hatch said. I had the same problem, that fixed it.

Same route here, easy win.

Totaly off topic; Famine - you watch far too much QI.

Another thing that causes a lot of vibration at high speeds is stiff suspension. When running the Test Track I also soften my springs 1.0-2.0 lower.
I ran this a few times. The best was the stock off the shelf Speed 12. No mods, only turned off ASM's.

I used my minolta on b-spec,i only b-speced the race because i entered the race before i had finished all of the special liscenses. I just spread the gear ratios right out and hey-presto, A nice vw beast for me. 👍

The Best car to use here is the Panoz Esperante Race Car .It is extremly stable you can't lose. Try It!

use the option 350z, thats what i did
i got that bad boy up to 260 mph with drafting

It is your springs. Set them to the lowest level.

I'm glad to hear that about the Panoz. I liked the car but it sucked big time in GT3. I've been avoiding it . Has anyone else used it with any luck?

It's almost a crime NOT to use the Speed 12 in Like the Wind. It's the only race on the only track where you can use that car and not be hurt because it spins the tires in 4th frickin' gear.

3000gt vr4 fully tuned asm tcs off etc. Highest auto gear setting and lower it (just looks kool) addd wing and remove downforce. i was hitting 270 with nos. Cheap and fast!!!!

This is not the case... i have a DFP and there seems to be a relation between highpowered cars and cars with higher mileage (i think), some of my more used cars with very high horespower are totally useless on tracks like test course because they swerve all over the place on the straights. Gripping the wheel as tightly as possible does little as the forcefeed back easily overpowers you and the car continues to swerve and maybe even spin. And yes i have tried body refresher plan or whatever its called and this does not work either 👎 :grumpy:

The R92CP has control problems at high speed. I never got that with the Minolta or any other car.

Won easily with the Minolta Toyota. 4 of the 5 opponents pitted, the other , the AMG Mercedes CLK-GTR didnt but was about 20sec behind. i used Racing Hard tyres.

i had this same problem today with the minolta at twin ring motegi. I was gonna try to put toe in on the rear wheels. One of the toe settings is supposed to stabilize the car on straights, i think its rear toe-in. Give that a try.

I used a stock Escudo with N1 tyres and no TCS... won no probs for 200 points... had to do a little bit of drafting here and there but was an easy win....

Even blasting the tyres of the start line and spinning all the way to 200MPH didn't warm them up at all... by the end of the last lap my front left was ever so slightly non-blue!!

However I tried to do similar with Minolta on stock settings and get the same problem as you guys... even with no (as little as poss) downforce it still happens... I think it's something to do with the bottom of the car touching the ground!!

Reckon softening the springs and raising the ride height might sort it out.
