The way this series is designed is to keep things fresh competitive and maybe even out of your normal cars and comfort zones.

The way this series will work is as follows. it will be a random series! Meaning the winner of the currentt weeks race will pick new rules to follow for the next week. This will leave a full week for everyone to put a car together for whatever track and reulations for cars the winner picks. Races will be time for about an hour long. All applicable GTP OLR apply.

We had a trial week already last week with 6 participants. There are 9 spots left. I promise this will be a fun and refreshingly challenging series, as it already has started out to be. Heres a quick link of just some talk regarding last weeks race and input from other gtp members so you can get an idea of what it should be like finding and putting cars together. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=212535

i want to start things out slow so this weeks stipulations are as follows.

-350pp
-sports hard tires
-autumn ring
-about an hour long (as people start letting me know average lap times we can set #of laps)
-no race cars/concept/RM/wings
-all tuning allowed *except diff*

The first race was awesome! Good fun racing with real drivers that race good clean line and dont try to run everyone off the road! looking foward to this weeks race and deff going to be bringing a car that has more tuning time under its belt!

i dont really want to add or change rules, because i want to keep peoples ideas as free as they want to be. however i have just thought of a new rule for the series. while the winner gets to choose the event, there will be a disadvantage as well.
- the previous week winner and current weeks rule setter will have to take a penalty of 10pp that week. its is to give that person a harder challenge and at the same time keep the same person from winning week after week. the disadvantage will accrue until that person loses.
- if the race is set by some other method other than pp, say hp for example it will be 10 hp increments.
- if the race is monetarily regulated it will be 2000credits disavantage.
- if the race is regulated by other means a i will figure an appropriate disadvantage.

i dont know yet i think ill probably go on gt at about 10:30 to try something out. dont keep it on the d/l. share what youve figured out and average lap times so we can try compare. i am kind of thinking cappucino though.

Here's a thought too that might help keep things fair and encourage good races. I saw on another series that people were limiting the pp in a different way. Say the limit was 400pp, each car used has to be originally 400pp or less, and if it were for sale in the game stock as higher it wasn't allowed. It might help creativity and emphasize tuning as opposed to ballasting and power limiting? Just a thought.

Getting started on a car now for the 350pp challenge. Gonna try a Yaris first and see how it goes.

i was thiniking that same thing but maybe being slightly more lienient. like not allowing to be able to take more than 20pp of the car. an exact # is hard because with used cars after an oil change the pp will increase a good amount. we wont worry about it for this race but in the future it will be implemented.

yeah i just hope people will follow those rules.... no real way to monitor them ... i tihnk im set for this race ... im touching mid 1:39's and running consistant low 1:40's ... lol i hope thats enough ... i tested and tuned quite a few cars ... probably blew about 300k lol def fun tho and came out with some sick and unique cars which i was going for

oh and i know debo is running a fiat 500 thats running consistent 1:40's as well ... so im hoping thats a good time cause i like racing and tuning cars i dont have a million copies of lol

Im running a pretty rare car .... def turned out to be a sick car honestly dont know the name its a '90s fiat tho ... not sure how the tires are gonna hold up lol ... ill post my car and setup tomorrow ... for now i gotta catch so zzzz talk to you homies later .... GL searching and tuning!

okay here are my first quick assesments. these are not with full tunes and are actually at 340pp. just trying to figure what cars have an edge and whatnot. no suspension tuning done to any of these cars yet. some may have generic 5 speed close tranys.

-98 mini cooper 1.3i (old school mini) slow at 1.44.8 walter got his much faster so that may not be much help, just not enough power for me.
-suzuki wagon r rr 98 1.42.5 kind of slow but ths car actually has potenttial if the time is taken to tune it, awd and has lots of pull out of corners.
-suzuki cappucino 1.42.7 also potential just needs tourque.
- it has become clear to me though, the car to beat seems to be the...
suzuki swift sport 1.37-38.0 consistently, thats slightly detuned for me + clutch and flywheel. best time 137.176!
ill see what else i can find

found two more nasty cars.
-mini cooper 02 awsome. 1.37 range
-honda crz, this may be the best car. deff the best chassis so far but it has a major downfall when the battery dies at about 6 laps it loses about a second a lap. this could still be the one of the fastest 1.37 range also.
i see alot of other intersesting old cars in my garage that could be great like a 74 ttiumph spitfire, a 63 alfa gulia sprint and a 68 nissan fairlady 2000. but i got too pick some thing and start to tune tomorrow.

Yeah I was also thinking of using a spitfire... Those are done good times what kind of speeds are you guys hitting on the straight?

I have been thinking about the rule changes and I def like the winner penalty but I think that limiting the car choices to stock pp should be left up to the winner as part of their stipulations... Just cause it will allow more cars to be tuned and always keep things fresh

yea but the cr-z is fast even off battery. as far as the detuning goes leaving it up to the winner will be the standard, just if they want it, they have got to remember to say it.

but the idea of the pp penalty to the winner i think will appeal to everyone this way theres a no chance for anyone to dominate and its more realistic (like in DTM or other touring series)

I'm running a Fiat Punto HGT Abarth around 130hp and 1100 kilos

Without fine tuning it i'm in very consistant 1:40.000- .200 range and a best lap of 1:39.5 with a top speed of around 91mph on the autumn ring

I'm hoping with some tranny and more suspension tuning to be 1:39.5's and lower consistantly...

any ideas to stop understeer in a 1100kg ballasted car with a 60/40 weight split lol ... dont want to go to crazy on the toe out or neg camber looking to try to preserve the tires lol

try using a less stiff front sway bar to start, crank up the rear on a notch higher than it is now, and raise both spring rates leaving the back springs with at least at 2kg stiffer see what happens.

Quickest I have gone through so far is in the CR-Z. 1:36.870 with an average of 137.1. Just worried about the IMA battery wearing out so quick an not recharging.

thats really fast, i knew that car would be good. if your going that fast i would probably stick with it at this point. the battery lasted 6 laps for me. i was trying to figure that out, does it recharge on braking or just doesnt use power till its full again? do you get it back during a pit stop? i figure the race is going to be 40 laps, so put that into your decision too.

ok so im all tuned and decided to us the 05 swift sport. fastest lap is a 1.35.953. also found another pretty good car, the nisan march 12sr i got a 1.37.7 with i its a good chasis just lack torque.
