Random Winners Choice WRS!!

I have to say im very curious to see how this all turns out im running 1:47s... But this car does not use tires at all I honestly think I could make it most of the race on the same tires

nice times this will be a fun one for sure. post up your best offline times and the car used to do it put it in bold so its easy to see. its for a 1 point in the series. post up the exact time, and do it before 9 tomorrow to lock it in. see you all online tomorrow.

Offline.

Really putting a hurtin' on the car/tires. Averaging slower than that.

If next weeks race is going to be on Thursday, I won't be able to attend. Therefore, if for any reason/way I place 1st I'll forfeit my choice to the second place winner.

if its going to become difficult to race on thursday nights for everyone, we can try and come up with a better night. we can talk about it tonight after the race or post up the best day for yourselves. i like thursday but i can do any weekday really. lets try and make a consensus about it. once we decide i would like to keep it an exact day but if everyone agrees we can change to try and accomodate people week to week. i know in a few weeks i may also have to miss a race or two and it would be nice to reschedule if at all possible.

sorry i was out tonight guys my heads been killing me all night think i should have drank more water today... as to thursday nights ...any weekday works for me so what ever you guys choose let me know sry again ttyl

any day next week is fine except thursday. vinny has hockey wednesday i beleive, so maybe tuesday or friday?

if wednesday is no good either then i would prefer tuesday. the wife might not take kindly to me sitting in front of the tv on a friday night.

okay so looks like tuesday as long as thats good with vinny. who has to post up some rules for this race to get going. we obviously wont have much prep time so he better do it soon.

Okay...so here it goes. There's a chance I might not be able to make it, but I'm planning on it.

Suzuka Circuit(Full) Spec-STi Race

-Race will be 45 minutes, so we will use average lap times to get an idea of lap amount.
-Impreza WRX STi Spec-C Type-RA '05-This car must be used by all drivers. It is available in the NCD.
-HP/Torque is limited to 375 receptively.-Neither HP or torque figures can exceed this value. You may use power upgrades in any fashion you would like but you have to comply to the final 375 or under numbers.
-Tires will be Sports Hard
-Transmission tuning is not allowed
-Differential with center differential adjustment is allowed
-Full racing suspension is allowed
-No weight reduction allowed, ballasting is permitted to factory weight. You cannot lighten your vehicle and ballast it back up.
-Pit stops is limited to 2 mandatory stops. - Your vehicle must go through the pit 2 times, and there is a 2 stop maximum.
-Race Modification is not allowed (RM in GT Auto), but aero/wing additions are if available.
-Chassis strengthening is allowed
-Race clutch, flywheel and carbon driveshaft is allowed

I apologize if not everyone is enthusiastic about a 1 make race, but I figured this would emphasize smart suspension and power tuning. Pay attention to torque/HP curves when doing power upgrades and how they relate to the stock transmission gearing. By using differential tuning, you also have to watch how your tires wear from corner exit. With a mandatory and limited 2 pit stops, tire conservation will be key. These are very easy cars to drive fast but very hard to preserve tires with.

And since we're using a Premium model car, have some fun and dress it up with some nice wheels and paint. ;)

Please let me know a general consensus on date of the race.

Week 2

SuzukaCircuit.jpg

Ok so i just did a quick test and tune and my specs are:

Viper Red
Prodrive White wheels
Aero Package A (With WRC wing setup)

364hp
375tq

And on a preliminary shake down lap i clocked a 2:27.020

Over all the car feels great but i do need a ton of practice on suzuka as i suck at it lol

sounds like its gonna be a great race, i have found out i can not race tuesday or thursday, so if it ends up being tuesday i would have to miss it. my choice on day would be wednesday / friday

nice pick man. i like the idea of limiting the pit stops too, very clever. Now to get down to business for this week. lets set a date now to get this over with. Vinny what day will you be able to participate. it seems wednesday is good for everybody, and if not probably monday would be second choice after reading all the current posts. i think that would get everyone in there but it leave like no time for tuning.

oh and a quick question for vinny... you mention ballasts but only up to the factory weight ... but you also say no weight down ... im a little confused ... does that mean windows and hoods can be done ? or just no weight downs period?

No lightening of the chassis can be done whatsoever. If you feel the need to ballast for any reason, you can. You can add weight, but not subtract from factory.

Not sure why anyone would want to, but it's available. Maybe you need some weight over the rear tires or something to that effect.

After a few laps in the practice room testing and tuning, i came up with a setup that i like. I ran a 2.22.639.
My cars stats are as follows.
-343hp/375tq
-aero package B
-stock wing
-color yellow
-ENKEI JS+M wheels white
-stock trans
-race suspension

monday or wednesday is good for me, Vinny has hockey on wednesday, and wont give me a straight answer if he can race monday LOL!!

Penalties

I propose we start using a weight penalty for the winner of the previous race. My idea allows the penalty to be used without question no matter what the choice of race the winner picks is. I propose it be a 2% penalty i.e. if the winners car weighs 1000 kilos the winner of the last race has to add 20 kilos to their car. But they are allowed to move the ballast so this is not a total disadvantage... and if the winner continues to win ecah race there ballast goes up 2% of the cars total weight ( not including previous ballasts) i.e. 20kg turns to 40kg and so on.

I think this is the most fair way to have a consisent penalty that can span many cars and types of racing .... Also it is a penalty used in several Pro sports car and touring car racing series.

I know some of us may think its too late to change the rules but as last week was a fresh start and chris really shouldn't have had a penalty anyway. I feel that as long as he agrees and everyone is ok with a winners weight penalty. This method is the most fair. I'd like to hear everyones response and other ideas.

Thanks
