Drift zones were pretty achievable for me in FH5 but I've noticed the difficulty ramp-up, too. I did get the 340K one after a lot of trial and error, but there are still three -- two dirt, one tarmac -- that I haven't been able to hit for the life of me, even with what feels like good tunes and ideal technique. They're the last PR stunts I need to three-star and it's aggravating how out of reach they feel.
Yeah, they're still fun to drive whether they're Group B monsters, recent WRC models, or my new favorite skill points meta the '77 Esky, it's just that the points threshold seems a little out of whack. I was able to three-star a bunch of zones first-try, and then keep getting stuck at the Hairpin, Kodachi Run, and Meito Iwa. It's aggravating.
I got this with one custom circuit race (the farthest to the north of the map).
Yeah the Festival Playlist is really weird some people cant do the daily challenges while others can. I was able to get it all done on Thursday since there is a bug that lets me do future challenges of the same season on any day.
My problem with it is a lack of transparency. It's not clear what car PG used to set the star scores, nor if they've upgraded it. Also, I don't exactly want to use a single meta car. That's not fun. That just makes it boring, IMO.
They don’t use a car at all, they simply pick a number based off of experience and player data from previous titles, plus what their desired difficulty expectations are. Those expectations could be that 90% of players should be able to 1 star on their first go, but only 5% or lower should be able to 3 star. They’ll likely have one in-house expert try each event to prove it is beatable though but they wouldn’t record that guy’s ghost to set the PR stunt times, that’s more common in AI driver training.
It took me two attempts, the first didn't work for whatever reason. I tried the second attempt with a different SUV (used the Jeep Trackhawk first and the Aston DBX second) on a different course and it worked okay.
The latter. I’ve not worked at Playground but I’ve seen many racing games from different teams/studios and data-backed design feedback is common. Seen design documents, been in feedback calls etc.
I have had the same problem happen to my friend KillerSpectre21 who I played with last week. The daily challenges were bugged for him as well. I wonder why it works for some while for other it doesnt. Why is it so inconsistent?
It's not a single meta car. The leaderboards show a variety of cars completing each challenge.
I know I'm exceptionally bad at sliding and skidding the car in a control manner because at Drift Club Nippon I was able to ✪✪✪ every chapter first time. Then I checked out the friends tab on the leaderboard... aaaand my placement was so low that apparently I now have to buy dinner for everyone else on this forum. 😭 🍽🍛
It and the Super Scoob BRZ FE may have advanced destruction skills but they're missing the 9.0× multiplier in their own trees. My theory is that I'll be able to bring in a bigger points harvest in the 205 as it also has 2.5× faster buildup and a 20% combo perk. The Stratos and Evo III treasure cars, the supercheap 88,000Cr Impreza 22B STi and '77 Escort RS1800 also have access to at least the first two of those perks from what I can determine.

The only thing you need to look out for is that skills are disabled when in Autodrive.

I play on both Deck and XSX.
My liveries have glitched - thumbnails show fine, and other people online see the liveries, but to me they've reverted back to standard. I'm hoping this one can be fixed as the liveries are still there, since others can see them.
But more annoyingly... All of my Horizon Promo etc photos are just white. Still registered as having them, but the image is just a white square. What's worse is I'd actually been putting effort into the pics so the scrapbook looked good.
I'm afraid to change platform again now. I knew the cross save would be a mess at launch.
FWIW, it plays pretty good on the Deck! Wouldn't want it to be my primary way to play. But it's great on low settings for getting collectables, seasonals etc when you can't get to your console.
Also, added a couple of you regulars on Xbox, if you don't mind. Want some more times to play against
