El Capitan is too bumpy and more like a back track to me. Sure the scenery is wicked, but Grand Valley Speedway remains my No.1.

Thats all the fun, dips and undulations. :D

I have 3 things to say to you :sly::

1- A track as bumpy as El Capitan hides a car's true handling ability, and plays more on its acrobatic skills.;)

2. For reason no.1 this makes tuning hard, and tuning is what I do.;)

3. Try driving a track like this (aka road) to work and home everyday, and we'll see how fun you think it is.;)

Thats why as a tuner you should to adapt to the conditions, I thought you would like the challenge.

Oh and BTW we are talking about a game here, didn't say I wanted to drive to work everyday over them (Which I do go over my fair share of them anyway).

1. Nurburgring
2. Midfield raceway
3. Tokyo (both variations)

Oh sure enough I could tune a car for that particular track, which would make it completely pointless anywhere else. Majority of race tracks are smooth though, so a suspension setup that works on a smooth track will work most places, with only gears in need of changing, which is why El Capitan is not as good for tuning.

Smokey Mountain was a track from GT3, half tarmac and half dirt/gravel. Google it and you should find it. :)

Ah, I see you meant Smokey Mountain :p I'd completely forgotten about that track. Yeah, it was pretty good, not one of my favourites though. PD fanny about too much when it comes to rally courses, they're fun but I wish they'd create some actual stages as opposed to half-baked gravelly circuits.

I was looking through the GT2 track lists and I forgot how many great circuits that game had too.

The reason I liked Smokey Mountain was because it was a real b*tch to tune the cars to be able to drive on tarmac, and then on gravel. Was a laugh in split screen mode with a mate. :)

My favorites:

1. Nürburgring (along with everyone else :sly:)

2. Grand Valley Speedway

3. Citta di Aria - Haven't seen many others who like it, but I love how difficult it is at high speeds

4. Costa di Amalfi

5. Suzuka Circuit

I was going to start a new thread on this but I dug this one up instead!

My favorite tracks:
1.) La Sarthe - In one word, beautiful. It is definitely enjoyed most behind the wheel of a high-powered car.
2.) Grand Valley - Has always been one of my favorite tracks. It just feels like a nice track to race on.
3.) Special Stage Route 11 - Awesome technical track. Always provided me with a challenge when I needed one.
4.) Nurburgring - It is only this low because I didn't play GT4 near as much as previous GT games and I never properly learned the whole track. I will be going all out with GT5 so I plan to learn Nurburgring this time around!
5.) Deep Forest - A relatively easy, high speed track that I have always enjoyed if I'm not in the mood for a really technical challenge.

Honorable mention: Autumn Ring!

I thought this would be easier to answer ... just about every track has its plus that no other does (minus that test course thing in GT3 :yuck:). The two that spring to mind are the Nurburgring, and La Sarthe simply because of their size. Theres something cool about driving for 6-8minutes without going round the same corner twice.

Nurburgring Nordschleife
Twin Ring Motegi - Road Course
Suzuka Circuit
Tahiti Maze
Apricot Hill Raceway
Autumn Ring
Deep Forest Raceway
Grand Valley Speedway
Midfield Raceway
Trial Mountain Circuit
Hong Kong
Infineon Raceway - Sports Car Course
Laguna Seca Raceway

My favorite is Nurburgring but I love the rest also

1. Rome Circuit
2. Laguna Seca

Got much more where that came from, but I'm tired. :)

Awesome to see my thread from 3 years ago still going! Hahaha! I even forgot what my password was for this acct. (I actually have another acct now).
