Hey guys. I am working on a possible new logo for my web site, The Aviation Forum, as the one I have isn't that great. This is one of the possibilities I like...tell me what u think.

Here's the other option...the letters are less bold and look neater...

Also I will have to make it a bit smaller as it is a tad large for 800x600 users. I have given up on trying to please 640x480, they don't exist anymore anyway.

So, which do you like better?

I am gonna try and center the red address. Sorry for posting it here so many time...but its a great way to see how it interacts and loads in a web environment.

I like the Top one the best.

BTW I tried to join your site but I had problems and it won't let me log in. The whole process of joining was long and I think I may have screwed it up. If you can, delete my account and I'll join again.

To be more balanced in the picture.... I would move the far right pic to the center which would balance things out a bit more.... That would also help center your text better to all three pics...

 Looks good though...

Something like this...:

How about a bi-plane draging a flag that said "The Aviation Forum" or "www.aviationforum.org" or somethings....

An animated gif with it flying accross the screen.. :D

That sounds like a good idea, but I think it would be rather difficult to make it actually look good.

Yeah it would. I don't know if I wanna move the cessna to the center, I like it.

Can someone describe how to make the red text less sorta smudgy bleedy looking?

Decrease your JPEG compression. The whole issue of "bleeding" is one of the main reasons why GIF's are preferred for images with text. ;)

Well how do I do that now that I've already saved it as a jpeg? Do I need to redo the whole image. That wouldn't be too hard, just a bit of a hassle.

Just make 2 images, which you can mount together. Then you can JPEG-compress the pictures, and GIF the text. Also, switch off the antialiasing on the text, as JPEG compression adds an antialias effect anyway, since it is sine-wave compression.

So the jpeg format won't bring down the quality of the plane images?

Post those three stock photos of the planes and I'll se what I can do to make it ungranulated.

Its not the original images that are gran., just when its in gif format. But when its in jpeg the text is crappy. :(
