Wants to ban guns, had a concealed carry permit.

Says that the NSA needs no oversight and is Constitutional, goes on a warpath when she finds out she's been spied on by the government.

Hilarious.

Anyways, back to the guns.
Oh, we know how great her hypocrisy is, trust me. She's not fooling anybody. Just a huge bag of suck.

Now, as you said, back to guns.

Who wants one? http://www.flir.com/thermoSightR-Series/

If I had TONS of cash to waste, definitely. :D

I completed my latest project on the USP: Sold my two used 10-round mags for $90 on eBay, bought two new 12-round mags for $95 on Botach. I shipped mine to Cali, got new ones from Cali.

Midway USA had them for over $70 a piece, so I'm happy with this hat trick. :D

This arrived in the mail today, along with a second soft pistol case and some ear plugs (I needed something to make the order $100, so I could save $15).

I also bought six 20 round boxes of 5.56 today.

.223's are everywhere now....... I stopped by sporting goods store & .45's EXPENSIVE, no .22's, but tons of .223's & lots of varieties.

Sorry to bring up Yee again, but I just found this on abc:
One month after the Sandy Hook massacre, Yee helped introduce what was seen as one of the toughest pieces of gun control legislation in the country to ban the "bullet button."

The device allows for quick-change magazines on military-style assault weapons and is legal under California's assault weapons ban.
Let us all look up bullet button install on youtube, so we can all get quick-change mags on our rifles.

Bullet button? He meant the mag release?

Well, before banning something you better know what it actually is you are trying to ban.

And whats a quick-change magazine? Are there slow-change magazines? If I change the mag really slowly is it automatically a slow-change magazine? Am I breaking laws if I change a slow-change-magazine really quickly?
Are there intermediate-speed-change magazines?

Anyway, loaded some more anti-diplodocus rounds, 45-90's. 525 grain bullets, about 1450 fps

Here in Cali, regular mag releases are bannded. The mags must be 'permanetly fixed' to the rifle. But, the law allows the use of a 'tool' to remove, for obvious reasons. A guy built a device that uses a 'bullet' or round of ammunition as a 'tool' that you can then use to remove the magazine. Yee try to ban it. Didn't succeed.

Exactly. The bullet button disables the user from being able to release the mag with his finger.

Unless you buy a small magnet for like $5 that converts the bullet button into a standard push-button release. Someone who isn't me thinks it's great.

Palmetto State Armory has pretty good deals on Federal 223 today. Under 45 cents each shipped and gets better with more boxes since shipping doesn't increase linearly.

I can't believe that article was actually right. I thought they meant that Yee wanted mag release banned, replaced with bullet button. He actually wanted to ban bullet button, too? :dunce: I am so glad that loser is done. 👍

Have you shopped Walmart? I've yet to see any source cheaper than they are.
anti-diplodocus rounds
I had to look that up. :ouch:

I bought a 420 round case of Federal XM193 from Walmart. It was $0.37 per round before tax. I need to go to Walmart and see if they have any more of those.

On a different note, I am still deciding on a sling. I have narrowed it down to these three:

Savvy Sniper

Magpul MS4

Thanks for the clarification. That is one weird law, and that comes from a guy living in a country filled with tons of nonsense-laws.
I had to look that up. :ouch:
Oh come on, you didn't spend countless hours playing with plastic dinosaurs as a child?
Triceratops, Iguanodon, Stegosaurus, T-Rex...... :sly:

Oh, and I found this awesome pic. Can't get much hotter than that:

@Brett All three are cool. I'm glad you are the one who has to choose.

Yeah! In Japanese!!!!!

As I said couple days ago, more pics.

I bet California is worse!

I addition to not having 'removable magazines' on our rifles, we can't have:

  • Adjustable/Telescoping/Folding Shoulder Stocks
  • Pistol Grip
  • Thumbhole Stock
  • Veritcle Forestock Grip
  • Flash Hider
  • Bayonet Lug
  • More Than 10 Round Magazine
  • Has an overall length of less than 30 inches
  • Grenade or Flare Launcher

I still can't get over how lawmakers can just take those things away. Some bans, while I still think they are ignorant and/or absurd, I can see where they are coming from. Then there are some items(vertical fore-grip?) that makes me seriously question their sanity.

Best deal I've found in Walmart is the Federal 150rd M855 for just over $70. I believe it worked out to 46 cents each. That 420rd box is in the $350 range here, $0.60+. Three boxes of the Federal 100rd 223 from PSA was $125 shipped = under 42 cents.

All about banning "scary things" to appease voters so they can continue making a career out of politics. While raking in all kinds of cash from bribery or...gun trafficking.

I guess that'll work! :D:tup:

This job-security stuff gotta go......

According to The Firearm Blog, @Brett's Tavor has been outselling expectations. It was expected to sell 6,000 in a year, they've got 15,000 out in 9 months.

I think due to SBR laws, Americans have been aching for a bullpup that doesn't break the bank.

In case you guys want some optics that cost twice as much as your rifle:

Depends on how much your rifle cost.

That is a pretty badass scope though.

Optical engineering in general blows me away. There's a reason why scopes and cameras cost so much.

In many ways, the optic on top of a rifle dictates how the system can be used more than the gun itself can.

I believe that optics are the greatest leap forward in firearm evolution since the invention of the self contained cartridge.

If we're going to talk about that scope in particular, I think that having a true 1x is absolutely critical if the gun is supposed to be used at <30 yards. I've tried quick target acquisition with and without magnification. Even small amounts of magnification require your mind to "make the switch" and slow you down.

Under these sanctions against Russia, the US stopped exporting all firearms and double-purpose accessories (sights, lazers, scopes, etc) to RF. Which means, Remington, Winchester, etc are going to be a rarity.
And EU is about to do the same, which means no more good scopes.

Anyway, I wasn't planning to purchase any Rem 870.
Tula TOZ-194 or IzhMech MP-133 is good enough for me.
But if I want to get a rifle scope (for a Molot KO-SVT later), I'll have to go with a crappy Russian scope with lenses made of vodka bottle glass, :D

I have a US Optics on my bolt action custom rifle. That's expensive enough for me, trust me! So, no thanks.

That and the IWI has accounted for many of the issues people have had with bullpups.

And speaking of optics, I think I have narrowed my choices down to an Eotech XPS2 or Aimpoint PRO. I also think I am going to with the Sandstorm Custom sling in black and OD green. I just need to get a measurement on how long I need the sling to be.

Ah 🤬, I totally forgot about those stupid sanctions, if those sanctioning-crap is going to go both ways I'm going to have to buy a Baikal single shot shotgun, those are awesome.

And I hope they don't stop the export of Wolf and Tula ammo. I don't shoot that ammo myself but I know its extremely popular in the lands across the pond.
I sense another ammo buying spree - russian made ammo and russian surplus.

Can't comment on slings, can on optics.

Tried both, you cannot go wrong with either. The Aimpoint sits slightly higher than the XPS. If you want to hold your head slightly more upright with the EoTech, choose an EoTech EXPS. It's the same thing but with a slight riser.

I don't know the cheek weld on a Tavor. I prefer a higher optic on my AR. It allows me to hold my head straight on the rifle and I can have my irons flipped up without them taking up some of my vision.

As far as the rest is concerned, Aimpoint can be left on all the time, great if you want to use this gun to defend yourself. Eotech has that sexy reticle and stays more accurate if your head is not in the ideal location.

Honestly though, flip a coin and you'll be happy.

That is what I am getting with everything I have read. Both are very good and both have very good features, with the biggest differences being battery life/always on and reticle/better field of view. Every time I lean to one, I read something and lean back to the other.

If they are both awesome, go with the awesomer looks I say......

Is that thing made up of paracord?

Lot of people shoot steel stuff, so in theory, it indeed could cause lower availability, if not some shortage.
