Is it a look down the barrel of some sort of suppressor? Looks like rifling or baffles or something in there.

I wouldn't have guess in a hundred years.

That Anti-Tank rifle. Very cool. 👍 The rifle is very impressive, but so is the iMac! How is that thing still holding together!? Again, very cool video, but if I had to take on a tank with that rifle after seeing that video, I'd be nervous. :nervous:

Controversial title, but very well made video featuring a gun we are all interested in. Very informative, too.

Dumping rain.

I decided to tear down one of my Mosin Nagant 91/30's again and re-sporterize it. Originally, all I was planning to do is put on a modern stock. So I picked up an ATI Monte Carlo and called it a day. Now I've decided to have a little more fun with this gun.

I've already bought the ProMag AA9130 stock and a couple 10 round magazines. Next I'll be the Rock Solid scope mount, and sending my bolt body off to them to have it modified with a bent bolt. I've spent a good amount of time working on my trigger, so I don't think I'll be upgrading to a Timney Trigger for now. Still have to start doing research into a reasonably prices scope to put on it. I'll be ordering a front rail and bipod for it later this week.

Yes, I know it's not the best investment but I am enjoying doing mods to this gun so I don't really care. And for those who get all butt-hurt about cutting up a war-time rifle, I have a second 91/30 from 1936 that is in much better condition that this one that I am keeping original and do not fire.

No pics for now, sorry.

I am butt-hurt about the lack of pictures, but I'll get over it.

:P

I totally agree with you. As long as you are having fun with the project, who cares? If it's some coveted/valuable vintage rifle, that's one thing, but these things still sell for around $150, right? Sound like a fun project to me!

How could it? Did HK finally decide to sell at Glock prices ;):sly:
Glock fanboy alert! GLOCKFANBOIALERT!

According to Google, it seems that MSRP's $719? I'm not sure what the markup situation for new HK handguns generally are, but my wild guess would be actual retail (going)price of around $619? I think Gen 4 Glocks go for $550-ish, so that would definitely put this HK in the striking distance pricewise.

I'm not a fanboy of anything, it's always been known in the market that Glock sells a reliable polymer gun that is cheaper than most of the other good polymer hand guns on the market. I like HK, but I don't like HK prices and rather buy an older used but well taken care of HK. If I become rich then I'll buy them when they're brand new.

I was just kidding bro. Yeah, $600-range's still high. Maybe not much higher than the "new" more expensive Glock prices, but you can still buy the super proven-reliable Gen 3 for $500(I probably prefer Gen 3), and XD, M&P's probably even cheaper.

P.S. I bought my HK used!

I figured you were, but I should have just said "Okay HK fanboy :sly:"

I'm not mad you said it I'm just trying to make sure my point is clearly brought across, and the guns I've looked at in 3gen form aren't that bad and some are cheaper than XD and M&P's I've known to be more expense than both. My dad won one a few years back (M&P) at a raffle at one of the local gun stores, the retail was $650 for it, but in its defense it was new to the market during that time. I think this was 2009 so or 10 so not incredibly new to the market.

I understood that perfectly, and yes, I am a HK fanboy...... probably a Glock fanboy too though.

My first handgun was Gen 3 Glock 17, and I think it misfired twice. Both Federal or something I think with bad primer. That thing was a machine. My HK USP, it's yet to misfire. MACHINE!

I'd chalk both up to bad primers by federal than anything else but I'm not surprised you haven't had too much trouble out of both guns. They're great pieces.

Today I've been shooting my K98 from WWII with iron sights at 100....and totally beat the hunters that were sighting in their scoped 5000+$ rifles. Whats wrong with hunters? Whenever they pop up at the shooting range they're always terrible, terrible shooters. And boy, their excuses for the bad accuracy are even worse.
I mean, I beat them with a 70 year old surplus rifle with crude irons and my groups weren't even mind blowing.

I feel sorry for the deer, in no way are they going to shoot half as ''good'' in the field, without a proper rest and being nervous and all. They're going to massacre those poor animals. :irked:

Also a couple of days a go the local hunter needed 3 freaking shots to kill a deer. Pathetic fools.

Those hunters in particular never had fathers to take them out hunting and then skin their catch. Like in MURICA!!! Hell yeah :sly:

They could just suck though, aside from my satire.

I had no luck with my ATI stock for my Mosin, I had to grind down tons of material to get rifle into the stock (cartridge disconnector area) which was a major pain in the behind. And as if that wasn't enough I had to work on the barrel channel too.
My fingers were bleeding - literally.

Most of them actually had a father teaching them. But those sucked too.

I'm sure they're father taught them the number one gun lesson "the more money you spend on it the more likely it will compensate for how bad you are!" :D

Or...

''The more scope you have, the less you have to aim''

And the rest is history.

"Will X gun finally unseat the Glock/AR-15/10-22/Remington 870 from its throne?"

No. No it won't. It takes a lot to change the workhorses of the gun world. Something big would have to be in the design for a new gun to take over as the market standard.

Here's a picture.

Still deciding on which scope mount I want. The two top contenders are the Rocksolid Industries mount, and the Redstar scope mount. The Redstar mount is a local made mount.

Here in California, a judge just ruled that the California 10 day waiting period to buy a gun is Unconstitutional. I hope it gets banned outright.

I have to say, this gun is freaking awesome. It also blows the Serbu Super Shorty Shotgun out of the water.
Three shots of 12 gauge, the butt stock is detachable. Chiappa Triple Treat

Put some sights on that beast and make the top barrel a slug barrel, top off the rest with 00 buckshot.
I love it already.

I doubt anyone would put their money on VP9 over Glock, including the guy who came up with that Youtube video. Just like with the automotive, H&K would lose on marketing & supply capacity alone. I think the manufacturers/guns like Glock are too well established with the sellers & consumers. They remind me of Toyota. High quality, but they don't have to be the absolute best to have the best sales record.

P.S. No AK? Your AR bias showing? j/k

Slick looking rifle! Definitely keep us updated. 👍

That's great news. We need to hear more news like this, turning the tide. I used to support background checks on private sales, but not anymore. If all they want is to continue chipping away at the Second Amendment, I won't support gun control even when it makes sense to me. My impression, these things doesn't have much to do with common sense, it's all useless politics. Right, Former Senator Yi?

I don't even know if triple barrel make sense, but do I care? No. I like it.

Love the idea about the slug barrel on top, with sights!

The fun when someone asks you : which .243 for my kids?

I answered: 100 grain sierra HP, it opens up really nicely at ranges of up to 200yds and should drop them on the spot.

:sly: :P

The fire order on the Chiappas aren't selectable. It will always fire right, left, center.

Do you get lot of blank stares?
How did you know?

If you tell dark humor jokes and the audience only gives you blank stares and head shakes, then you know that you have succeeded thoroughly. :sly:

Yeah, just found about that stupid fire order. Why in the nine hells the right barrel first? It would have made the gun so much more useful if they made it to shoot the top barrel first.
Dumb². :ouch:
