his car sure does shift funny... i drive a auto in rl and it shifts where i want it to most of the time. foot down, let off if you want it to change....

gah! just drive manual dood!

Can I just add, who cares???... this is a game, not real life... if you think you can compare everything to real life either, A: go become a racing driver, or B: make a better game!

I can tell you now, that if you add all these real things into a game such as GT, there would be less market for it, if you want a real racing simulator - go talk to the F1 teams, or buy Live4Speed... it's about as close as you're going to get.

Then go spend US$5000 on a Frex upgrade kit for your DFP, and spend another US$2000 on a state of the art racing cockpit with hydrolic rockers that replace the vibration so you feel every ripple strip and bottom out.

When you've done that, got buy a US$10,000 TV to play it all on.

By the time you spend all that, you would've been better of starting your own racing team in the local sedan speedway cup, and if you were a decent enough driver you could make some of that money back.

So how about we just be happy with what we've got, eh? 👍

Simple answer: No.

I don't need to spend $17150 on the set-up you described to get realistic gearchanges. In fact, I spent only $40 on another PS2 game where manual, automatic, and CVT transmissions behave like they would in real life.

I don't even need to spend that same $17150 to get what I feel is a perfectly acceptable driving sim "setup," because I already have two to choose from -- reclining in my chair in front of the PS2 with the DS2 in my hands and Enthusia in the disc tray, or sitting at the computer with Live for Speed on the screen and my DFP in front of me.

GT4 simply isn't an option for me, no matter how many accessories you tack on to it. However, that doesn't even matter, because even people who like or love GT4 admit that there are areas where it could improve. That's why this forum exists. To share ideas and hope that GT5 improves upon GT4, even if we thought GT4 was good enough.

Well stop whinging about things then, and if you don't like it then what's stopping you from fixing it? And what's all this hoping about? Little kids sit and hope for things, adults get on with things and make a difference in life... or at least some of at least try to!

Like the old saying goes: If you want something done right, do it yourself.

So instead of everyone in this forum whinging about problems in GT, why don't you all go put your heads together - do all the research for PD, and send it to them and tell them "we need this in GT5". That's not so much to ask is it?

I did it with London Studio's F1 05. And they took some of my ideas on board and used them in F1 06. It's marketing research, these companies want to know what you want, so how are they going to know unless you tell them?

I'll get started on that as soon as you send Jordan a petition stating "we want Der Meister to be a moderator" with the signatures of 1,000 GTP members on it, so that you can rule over this subforum and lock every thread that has anything to do with complaining about Gran Turismo and/or hoping for better things in GT5.

Like you said, "if you don't like it then what's stopping you from fixing it?"

Whatever, you people are hopeless.

What do you all want fixed - I'll do it then, common, hit me with all your crap, I'll try to decypher out the bulls**t whinging, and send what I can to PD.

Sheep

But why would you send them a list of complaints and requests when you could just make your own Gran-Turismo-style game? Take action yourself instead of hoping that Polyphony Digital will read and use that list. Only little kids sit and hope for things -- isn't that what you were just telling me?

...or are you a "do as I say, not as I do" kind of person?
