Hey guys i've been trying to think of some good realistic swaps for cars.

I did a M6 replica with the Z4 M and the V10 from the M5 with the drivetrain and clutch. It's wonderful đź‘Ť

Any other realistic combination ideas? btw the engines will be left stock to showcase them as factory optioned cars. Just trying to get some ideas đź‘Ť

SL55 AMG with 6.2 SLS engine, drivetrain, clutch, tranny.

Give the old girl a new heart and get rid of the terrible automatic transmission.

Call it the SL62.

That could work. I haven't touched any standard cars yet.

I did a 370z VR38 swap but the low end torque in that motor seems to upset RWD cars, on sports tires anyway. Balance get's messed up for track purposes.

I'll mess around with some more.
 
Ford GT '06 with Ford GT40 engine (not sure if it was the MK.IV or the 1969 Gulf GT40) and Nissan R390 GT1 Race Car chassis. Handled like a dream. It basically had all of the power of the R390 plus the horsepower gain from the GT's upgrades.

I loved this car so much because it felt like it was "my" car. It felt unique, even though a friend made it for me and I let another friend borrow-glitch it to paint it with DefaultColor. I deleted the beast after PD announced they would ban hybrids. After 2.12, I gave up all hope of being able to drive that car again. I'm not downgrading. I refuse to play with lackluster AI in repetitive races. I want to be online and spread the fun of hybrids, but PD had to ruin the fun.

I thought the Stingray didn't start until 1969. I may be wrong.

Nope 67 was the last year of the Stingray and 68 was the first year of the Sting Ray.

Note: that the difference is pre-67 is one word and post-68 is two words.
 
^to my knowledge that'd be the only 454. Unless, Check the Pontiac Tempest Lemans GTO and the Buick Special(not 100% but I think the Special has a 502)
 
That 502 might be cool tho. It is a GM engine so it's not that crazy.

I tried to swap a standard cars engine into a premium and it didn't work last time so i didn't bother with anymore. I'll give er a try.
 
I wish GT had the Buick 455. That engine is a BEAST! Better yet, the Olds 455, or the Pontiac 455.

Anyway, have you done any conversions involving an Alfa Romeo Spider Duetto and an Alfa 8C?

I'm pretty sure the 8C V8 can fit under the bonnet of the Spider.

I have not done any Alfa's. The engines don't really entice me at all tbh. Plus i know very little about them.
 
Anyone made a GT500 Mustang yet?

Might give it a shot but the chassis is complete garbage so i would have to do something about that.
 
Trust me, as a former Sworn GM only guy, I found foreign engines and was like "wow, they make alot more with alot less displacement". Seriously, try to find a U.S. made engine that makes similar power to the 8C's V8 then compare the sizes.
 
Why not Japanese cars? A 2JZ into a R32, a R32 into a Silvia, a S15 into a S13? The possibilities are endless?

True, tho there is a huge lack of torque in foreign V8's compared to American V8's
 
^ Not always. The 8C has immense bottom end for as small as it is. I know It's not as much as an American V8 but weighing a little over 3/4's as much as the American V8 it doesnt need to have as much power to get it's inertia moving, it just has power to have power.
 
I love it when hardcore Domestic fans find that foreign engines can make more power through replacement, rather than displacement. R U Faster Than a Redneck is a perfect example. Even though it's so fake, and scripted.

Back on topic, have you done any swaps involving a Dodge Ram and a Viper Engine?

I wan't to do a Silvia for sure. I'd like to put an RB26 into the S15 but the one thing i'm having trouble with is the donor cars tuning parts not carrying over to the receiving car.

For example the VR38 370z still can only be equipped with a supercharger so it kinda ruins the whole thing lol. Anyone know a fix?

Epic fail... just realised the Factory Optional Title. And I started a whole discussion about the 8C's V8..... *sigh* the Viper V8 in the RAM still works though.

@the 370Z problem. Use garage editor and turbo it if you want

I'm talking about the GTmode tuning garage. I'd like for the engine tuning parts at least to carry over. It's not a big deal tho i'm leaving it stock anyways i just thought it was weird.

Oh and i hate the sound of the Vipers V10, dump truck. :indiff:

Maybe one of the Diesels out of the LM cars? lol

I recreated this little monster when I was on 2.11, used the beetle 1200R body, '63 corvette motor, Lancia Delta Chassis, and mustang Cobra R drivetrain and Trans, it was awesome :D

Drop the 2J's engine into the Z/28. 7.2L Aluminum-Block Chevy V8! It's like dropping a crate motor into the Z/28, so I guess it could qualify as realistic. :sly:đź‘Ť
