I've got a Logitech G29, Trak Racer FS3, and a seat from a friend's old Celica mounted to a DIY base.

Works perfectly well.

I recommend you take a good look at all those different Manufacturers listed in the "Sim-Racing-Hardware" Forum -> https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...gs-cockpits-pedals-wheels-master-list.239878/

There are a lot of reviews from different rigs at the Sim-Racing-Garage as well wich i highly would recommend. -> http://simracinggarage.com/
Choose what suits you, and whats in your budget! You can spend endless amounts of money here ;-)

I am currently driving in a Playseat Evolution ( i have to admit that the seat is a little small for me... i am 1,92cm in height and with 95 kg weight i am not a small person). I will change to the new Sim-Lab P1-X as soon as it is delivered.

Wheel is a CSL Elite, and CSPv3 Pedals.

For a start, check the Master-List linked above. You will have plenty of ideas after that! I promise! ;-)

Cheers

If you buy a cheap entry level set of used equipment, can you easily upgrade each component as you progress or do some manufacturers refuse to play nice with other equipment?

Thanks to my wife’s good fortune with the Gadgetshow competition (UK tv show) I use a G29 wheel, a playseat evolution and a 50” tv.
Works very well for me.

A year or two back I got the G29 with the stand and an Ikea poang chair. Not super expensive, but not exactly cheap either. It probably cost $700-$800 CDN all together. But it’s easy to put away and the chair is perfect.

I used to play on a 65” tv but now I use a projector with a big screen on the wall.

MechaSenpai16 it all depends on a few factors; budget, space, immersion and goals.

Depending on your budget, you can go for any entry level wheel up to the most expensive direct drive wheel you can find on the market.

As far as space is concerned, some of us have a dedicated room setup for gaming and sim-racing. Some of us do not. This you will need to dtermine for yourself.

Immersion can go a number of routes form multiple monitor setups to VR headsets. Again, space and budget will play a role here.

As far as goals are concerned, some people find true enjoyment just with the PS4 controller. However some others want a "race" setup as they may be practicing for or wanting to get into real racing.

This is just a few examples and there are many others out there. We cannot give you a definitive answer to your question. You will have to try and find what works for you and your current situation. One other suggestion, if it's possible, is to find other friends who are also into sim-racing who currently have full rigs and wheel setups and take those for a spin.

Keith.
