Hello,

I just woke up and installed the new patch for GT5. Went straight to the license test to finish the last few I have left and this happened.

Anyone know why this would happen or what caused it? Super annoying.

Colored artifacts like that are often a result of a graphics card overheating, I'd turn your PS3 off for a while and see if it happens again later.

There are probably other explanations, but this one is kinda serious, so better safe than sorry.

Yea, this is happening to me on the loop on the SSR7 but only there and now where else, I kept playing for another two hours (not on the SSR7, but on the Nordschliefe) and everything was fine.

And yes, after the patch.

Alright if it came after the patch then there's less chance it's the GPU, so take my previous post with a pinch of salt

Ya this only started happening as soon as I installed the patch. My ps3 was only on for about 5 minutes before this started happening. I immediately turned off the game and now its happening in the ps3 minu.
grrr

Could possibly be your tv. My tv does it with a green color as my tv is crap!

Check cables too m8 ive had similar with a dodgy cable and only in one game.. Not GT5...

Well, you obviously took the red pill. you need to take the blue pill instead. Honestly, I hope it's not anything wrong with your hardware, and just a glitch that goes away on it's own or through a patch.

What is this? The Entrance to the Pit of Hell? (Sorry couldn't resist). I sometimes see this on my Projection TV with Satellite, pretty much the same effect. I have a Sony 55" projection, I have yet to see the game do this but It is most likely the TV and not the PS3. I would definetely check your Video connections.👍

Ok this is wierd. Tried it again on another tv using the rca plugs instead of the hdmi cable and it did the same thing and that was fter about 5 minutes of gameplay. This time it was 10x worse then before. It was almost the entire screen except for the sky.
So I turned off my ps3.. turned it back on and tried two other games I have, Sports Champions and gt5p, neither of those games had this problem.

Went back to gt5 and ran some special events without going into the license test. Been playing now for about 3 hours and haven't had it happen yet..
