Anybody enjoy the junior cars as much as I did? I prefer them over the fan cars and the other X cars. I thought the junior event was one of the most fun events so far in GT6.
The inline 4 sounded amazing, I think I even heard a little gargle/pop on downshifts? :D
I'm probably going to use the new X cars (non junior cars) a few times to see what the fuss is about--if any, then just go back to using the juniors until we get some real Formula 3 style cars. What does everyone else think about them? Does anybody think this means we'll be getting more F3-ish cars? or am I dreaming lol

I couldn't believe my ears when I hit the track for the first time. Sounds fantastic. I actually think we are seeing the future of F1/Indy. Beautifully covered wheels, lots of downforce, etc. Adrian Newey is a genius. Was hoping it would a little faster and we can't paint it but it's good enough for me. Can't wait to do a series with it.

F1's, Red Bull's, Rally's... all the same, they shouldn't be in the game :(
Don't play them then! Most of we GT fans really like these cars. The Bull perhaps no, but the others - HELL YES! Especially the little JuniorX we got this morning. Sweet sounding and fun even tho it's a just a little slow slow. When we run in a single make allwill have a GR8 time! Good on ya PolyPhony

Awesome sounding car, weird steering to it though. It has a large ratio and you need to turn the wheel far more than usual. Good fun for sure.

I thought it was just my wheel.. but it certainly has its own unique feel.. when I got used to it I loved it. And that sound, yes, if all cars are like this in GT7 I am buying a PS4 for sure!

Indeed!! and I agree, it's a blast to drive in any view screen. That leetle "4" has a sound that get's the blood pumping doesn't it!!

Only did one race for fun to see what it was like, and I was amazed at how much fun they were, they sound great!! I even loved the Kart Master series as well. I actually wish the race was longer and the AI a bit better.

To my ears, there is no obvious evidence of the typical pitch-shifted samples used elsewhere in the game. Also, it doesn't sound quite as good with high quality headphones, the detailing sounds synthetic, but the overall effect outweighs this I think. Could this (and the other X cars) be the first implementation of PD's new sound generation system?

I love it...the only downside is the FFB, it is way too low/light or soft, and the degrees of the wheel should be around 270º max.
I know a GP2 pilot and asked him about wheel ranges in real life a while back (because I play rFactor 2 and some more simulators and needed to know the actual degrees since I can change it in the PC).
Also he told me that FFB in open wheel cars should be a little bit heavy since the direction is quite direct as well as suspensions. No matter if the car is light.

If the FFB could be more or less like the Rocket mixed with the feel of the X2011, it should feel better.

You want F1 cars... play F1 2013 then...
You want Fantasy cars... play Need for Speed then...
You want Rally cars... play WRC 3 then...

Having played WRC 3, I know that it's a good game... But it's nowhere near competitive against GT6.

GT6 is a great game, as far as I'm concerned, and I just wish that the rally system were actually similar to a proper rally system - pace notes, randomly generated stages, etc. But, for now, I'm happy with the game.

That said, I love the X2014 Junior. It's like a Formula BMW/Star Mazda car with even more downforce and a really really nice Limited slip differential - I had been waiting for a Formula BMW F1 type car for a LOOOONG time.

I don't, that's why I don't like them :D

Glad you enjoy it :P

So you wish they hadn't put those cars in the game, simply because you don't want to drive them? Although many thousands of people do?

Anyways, thanks.

I'm only giving my opinion bro, no need to get all twitchy about it... I don't like them, period! :sly:

I respect your opinion, but I'm questioning the logic... Sorry. It's just one of those moments where "WWWWWHHHAATT?" is the first thing you want to ask...

Basically, I just think that most people are pleased with the rally cars and X2014 Junior... I'm surprised to see someone basically say that they wish those vehicles weren't in the game.

Onwards with the thread...

Don't know about anybody else but in the junior race my steering wheel has a lot of play in it. Wasn't there in the kart races though!

The car is in general pretty damn awesome. Handles like a dream. Sounds like it should, PD did a great job on this sound (I definitely hear some gargling when braking).

And I hate and despise the RB cars in general.

There's one thing about this machine that annoys the living hell out of me, though.

THAT GOD DAMN RPM BAR.
