RedBull Junior

It actually makes me wonder how a Forumla 3 car would handle with this sort of aero package. Along with any other fine tweaks that Newey could shoehorn in.
Funny you say that, I was thinking that out of all the Red Bull X cars being shown, the Junior is the one I can see being made into an actual race car due to the engine and drive train being more easy to outsource.

I find that this car is like a larger Kart. Handles amazingly, but my biggest issue with this car or any of the Red bull X's is after driving these beasts, driving a normal car seems like it's in slow motion, my brake timing is off, I find myself braking very very late, I anticipate corners much earlier thus taking the corner at a weird angle. It's funny. Very interesting these Red Bulls.

Fun car, but hate the steering.
Not the problem with how much you have to turn the wheel, it just feel like it magnified 0 degree dead zone. Almost feel like steering is disconnected from the wheel. Some old car does that. Wiggle left and right, and car doesn't react at all. Maybe PD tuned it for DS3 user can earn easy money and enjoy the car but forgot to change the setting for wheel users. or maybe it has that stupid steer-by-wire system that Nissan made. Not that I cannot adjust my driving, it just feel awkward. But still very fun.

I love the handling, but wish it had about twice the horsepower it's got. The X2010/X2011 has *TOO* much power, but Junior could use a bit more. Sweet car all the same, though.

I disagree. I think the power is right where it should be for an entry level X car. The second and third iterations should take care of the power in due time.

That's a damn good idea, and I think you're 100% correct. Perhaps the "non-fan" X-car will have more like 400-500hp - enough to be usable, not so much that it's just pure overkill. I might wish for more power in the Junior, but as an entry-level X-car, it's really just about where it should be. Now we need an intermediate step up before the 1500hp fan car version!

Please, let's not go with premium/standard sound.
I hear what you are saying but I didn't mean it in that context. I meant that regardless of whether a car is actually premium or standard in GT6, there are going to be cars (standard and premium) that you are going to drive more often than others. Since PD likes to take their sweet time with everything then they might as well start with the most popular cars first.

Oh my, the sound makes my legs turn to jelly, it's so... mmmhmmm, especially when decelerating by simply letting off the accelerator. I love it. However I am curious to why it's over 700pp, it should be around 500-550pp in my opinion.

Its cornering abilities are far superior to any other car in the game (excluding other X cars and karts, obviously). Speed and power are just a small friction of PP ;)

Well the thing is I did a lap in it around Bathurst and it did about a 2:05. Then I did a lap in my 458 which is stock apart from suspension and stage 3 weight reduction on sports soft tires (the x was on race soft). My 458 did a 2:09. Now obviously Bathurst is a reasonably fast track but still for a 150pp difference? I don't think it's worthy of that much.

I swear this car is the bees knees, it sounds so awesome and handles pretty good. Steering is quick and seems to rely on downforce I think a little more information needs to be given but at the moment I am enjoying the heck out of this thing. I sounds like a Honda motor tuned up with open exhaust, which is lovely. Now I wonder how PD played back the sound to get it sounding more lively than the other cars. They need to do this to every car, play it back how they played this one back and then tune it to sound like the original car note. Can't wait to see what the sound update brings, if it's anything like this little gem, GT6 is going to never leave my PS3 again.

Did the challenges last night in this car, and i agree. Its a cracker of a car. Sounds great, is nimble, brakes well and did i say it sounds great !

Only thing for me (along with others), was the very light steering, i initially thought there was something wrong with my wheel, so i exited, tried another car and track, felt ok, so i knew it was the way it was supposed to be.

I think i have found my new grind events, if they pay out more than once ?

They do. 👍

I love it handles great sound, great and the championship was fun to play. I gonna get a lot crap for this but the car truly reminds me of a Radical sr4 racer

While I might wish for more power, I did just win the Apricot Hill 20-minute event with it. Even had to de-power it a bit to meet the 650pp cutoff to get in the event. Took quite a while to catch up to the leaders, but I did it. Only pitted once for new tires, too. Oh, and this thing will let you rag the tires pretty hard before they give up. I was down to the last wear bar on the racing softs and hadn't noticed much degradation of handling.

The engine could be a K20Z4 which is in the Honda Civic Type R albeit with a few mods.

Sounds like it is in VTEC all the time.

I was wondering if I was the only one who instantly fell in love with this thing!

And THE SOUND! OMG! I could drive it all day long just for that.

I adore the AI in JuniorX races and it is a One Make Race basically which makes them even better in context.

I want such AI in One Make Races in Arcade Mode.

One of the better AI in the game, although I didn't like one particular thing: some of the AI cars are backing off when you pass them on the outside, and slow down and bunch up the field behind you. The same as what frustrated me so in GT5. Hopefully this is not the beginning again of numbing the AI down.

It's luckily not as pronounced as in GT5, but as it was such a problem there, I immediately noticed it now when it happened.

Yeah, s'weird, I'm sure I read flat-four, and was surprised by the "choice". I assumed it was for packaging reasons or something, but then that doesn't work in a narrow car with lots of space underneath for airflow.

I guess they changed it!

Flat 4s will always sound deep and throaty, mainly.

Proof. I was there, the car sounds even more aggressive - like a small V8 - in real life.
