24 minutes Nurb with that thing. It feels like you can take 80% of the Nordschleife flat out - no need to change tires, fuel you also don't need to add. P1 - with 200km/h max and +30secs in front :) - 400.000cr. or smth. Was good fun though...

I love the handling, but wish it had about twice the horsepower it's got. The X2010/X2011 has *TOO* much power, but Junior could use a bit more. Sweet car all the same, though.

I ran the first race at Silverstone with this, and absolutely loved it! Car sounds great, handles absolutely great, but then I saw it was using Racing Soft tires. I want to try this out in a one make race with Racing Hard and see if it brings it down to something a bit more challenging. Right now, the handling does still seem a bit too unrealistic.

Well i normally get just under 2 min with the Quattro i got with the game.
You just have to push harder and get good clean lines to get under 2 min with it.

I raced these with a lobby of very clean and courteous racers for nearly 6 hours straight tonight. I have to say they are a blast, they drive amazing and the noise they make induces only what I can call a "soundgasm" PD really did a fantastic job with the car, and more importantly it seems they finally understand the importance of the vehicles sound, as it is a large contribution to the vehicles "soul". Hopefully this is a sign of things to come in the audio department. The engine doesn't seem to loop sound, you can hear the valves slamming open and shut like proper itbs scream, and they actually captured over run on deceleration. I'm quite shocked at a job well done, it isn't over the top NFS sound, its pure and raw like it should be. To those who damn anything redbull, ill agree the fan car is ludicrous but you need to give the juniors a fair shot.

Has anyone had the RBJ go to sounding like a vacuum cleaner when entering it into a regular race. In the X Challenge it sounds great, but then I went to enter it into a regular race to see how it stacked up to LMPs and it lost the great sound. Any ideas?

Because racecar! Not sure what everyone expects, it's supposed to be powered by a 4-cylinder and that's what it sounds like, a 4-cylinder with open exhaust.

Well obviously  :p

But I don't think it's representative of what the new sounds will be like in their entirety, except for the general generation method - the smoothness and expressivity that brings (which I'm really happy about, as my own work over the last 4 years has been validated to an extent - it truly is possible to optimise it down to work in a game environment!).

The Junior sounds like it's unequal length in the manifold and, again, like the exhaust tail is far longer than it could actually be on the car - both aspects seem very wrong in the sense that they just don't fit what the car is supposed to be - it's only a 4 cylinder, not the 4 cylinder we're supposed to believe is in the thing.

That's significant because PD should have the ability to correct both of those things, if I'm right about the generation, but chose to deliberately do it that way. Don't get me wrong, I'm really pleased about this little teaser they've given us of the new sounds, but it's not all it could be yet.

As I said, I think they've had to "sex it up" a bit in the absence of other layers, which I hope will be coming in the update.

Just bought one and instantly threw sport medium tires on it and went for a lap around Silverstone. MONEY this thing is. Love it.

You know that you can win one for free by finishing 3rd or better in the x challenge

I love the X2014 Junior. All the handling of an X2010 car without that ludicrous amount of power making it more like work than fun to drive. I did that whole series of events twice last night and I'm sure I'll do them several more times in the future.

Love the prize money too

bravo to the OP and PD. I love this and have wanted a feeder series type car for ages. Driving is fun and the challenge is nice because all the cars are the same PP. The RB kart stuff was a bit easy but I enjoyed it. That jr car will now be hosting races online.....:mischievous:

Yeah, being a DS3 controller person the real X2010 racer is just beyond anything I can control or enjoy. I do like the insane acceleration but it's just feels so crazy I don't use it all that much. But this Jr version is much, much more enjoyable as far as doing some down to earth racing. A full grid of these online with some other clean racers would def be a blast I'm sure!

I actually really enjoyed it, I think the fact I crashed twice in the first race and managed 5th got me really into it, and the top 4-5 cars are quite difficult, feels like two levels of AI, the old schoolers chilling at the back, and the new kids being all tough up the front.

Surprised people aren't talking about the difficulty much here, I'd usually get 1st just on the last lap, or just before it for most races, had to pull some major block passes and super late breaking to pull it off, and hey got decent cr too, can't wait for new years :)

Amazing little machine. Downforce and grip are outstanding. Only downside being that after five races with it I seem to have completely forgotten how to drive everything else in my garage!
Tell me about it. After golding the events, went back to a GTR and felt the steering so heavy.

I bought it earlier and felt that while it's got loads of grip, the handling just didn't feel right to me... very difficult to find a fast way to drive it because it just gripped more and more in the corners.

The car is so much fun to play with. All you have to do is find the limits and use them. (Still using driving line because I can't get the limits down pat but you can brake a LOT later than they suggest).

I love the handling, but wish it had about twice the horsepower it's got. The X2010/X2011 has *TOO* much power, but Junior could use a bit more. Sweet car all the same, though.
I disagree. I think the power is right where it should be for an entry level X car. The second and third iterations should take care of the power in due time.

I enjoyed it, not crazy with power but handles very well on the track.

Yay another fake crap car, which handles way too good to be real... thank god it has a slow top speed, else all these losers were going to over-use it in online lobbies...!

Put sport tires on it. Problem fixed. And it's not crap, in fact it's the best Red Bull car they have given us so far.
