Yup, been using my iPhone4 and it works fine. Great addition.

For some reason I tried doing it this morning and it seemed as if I need my friends to log on and do it as well.

Are you really impressed by that ? All it takes is an Internet browser and of course, Internet connection. You could use an IPod, IPad, Mac, PC, another PS3, a toaster and even a toilet that has a browser with a connection.

I find it impressive because the Safari browser doesn't always play nicely with other websites. So yes.., it's impressive to be running B-Spec races using a small device like an iPod.

Download the google browser like I did, although I won't use my IPod to do that.

LOL you must be using an android phone or not have a smartphone at all because people who have an iPhone or iPod touch don't necessarily get to use any and all websites as the phone does not support flash and has some other website issues as well. So it is nice that sony made it work without flash and compatible with the mobile safari browser although any compatibility most likely just happened and was probably not planned.

^^^^^^^^^^^^ This 👍

For the "technically challenged" among us (although I do manage to use an iPhone) how is this done? What website will allow access to my PS3?

I only just worked out that I can use google on my iphone!! had it ages!! lol

I would love a quick guide saying how this feature is used??

Sweet, I hadn't checked this yet, thanks for confirming that! Now the question is, do I want to leave my PS3 on between Saturday and Tuesday? I'm not sure, especially as my internet is very intermittent and therefore will definitely cut out on Saturday night, thus leaving my PS3 unattended, doing nothing...

But at least I know for when I'm out for the day. My girlfriend laughed when she heard about B-Spec, she questioned the point of letting your PS3 do the racing for you. Now I don't even have to be at home to make it earn me some money!

They need to make an app for this.

So how does the work exactly?

Like are you using Safari or another browser, what model of Ipod/Iphone do you have and what version of IOS are you running?

Works great with builtin Safari on iPhone 3GS/iPhone 4, also on iPad where the large screen really does it's thing.

iPhone 3GS running iOS 4.2.1.
iPhone 4/iPad running iOS 4.3b3.

Well done PD!

I'm using a 3rd Gen iPod (32gig). Using the standard Safari browser, and it's working fine 👍

So how do I do a remote race? Ive followed the link and signed in, do I just need to press remote race?
Thanks. :)

I have the same question......how exactly does this work? I went to that website and logged in. Then, it said I had to do something under "remote races" in GT Life. So, I went back, turned my PS3 back on, went to remote races, and now it says I need to have a "shared Bspec driver" or something......huh?? I was under the impression that I could go onto that website on my iphone4, click "remote races", my PS3 would automatically turn on (right?), and then I'd be off. What am I doing wrong? What's this "shared Bspec" business about? Also, does my PS3 already have to be on and cued up to GT5? If that's the case, doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of remote races in a way? Any help would be wonderful.....

You have to turn on your PS3 manually, start GT5 and go to Server Mode under Remote Racing on the PS3. Then you can control it from your iPhone.

And no, your PS3 will not turn off automatically.

^I did that and it said something about "shared Bspec" driver.....what's that about?

can someone please teach me how to do it

It's a shame really, because with a PSP you can turn on your PS3 and off again. Browse all of the content from the XMB, play video and view pics, but it falls down at the last hurdle and will not let you start a game.

If you could do that last little bit, and get GT5 into server standby mode, that would be awesome...

Hey maybe with the NGP, maybe, just maybe this could work!!!

hm, i just tried to do a remote race.. my buddies have to add their drivers first, right? i thought i can play the career b-spec from my laptop.. obviously i cannot :(

or am i missing the link on the granturismo website?!

grr, sry didn´t want to post again! :/

Again, could someone explain this. I thought the idea of remote races was to run your OWN Bspec races from your laptop, iPhone, etc. What does that have anything to do with adding "friends" or having to "share" Bspec drivers?? I'm probably in the minority here, but I've never raced a single race against someone online (I've been perfectly content with Aspec, Bspec, and Seasonal Events)......so, why does my ability to use this new remote racing feature from my iPhone have anything to do with sharing friends/Bspec drivers?

I also tried to run a race but looks like I need my friends online too???

turn on your ps3 and go to playerlist @homescreen. enter your bob and select "share with friends" (it´s the little globe symbol on the left). go to community, there´s a symbol with a headset for remote racing. enter it and activate "server standby mode". then go check gran-turismo.com and login with your psn id. if you choose "remote race" you´ll see that you can only choose couple of cars and after that you´ll have to add bobs from your friends to race against them.

no b-spec career mode as far as i can see.... unfortunately :(
