Remote Racing Down

I been doing races for a while now and I can't start one now. It's weird the whole layout changed. It looks like they might be doing maintenance or something and messed something up?

Ya I just started a race like 20 min ago went to start another and it won't show me the normal screen with the events. Thought it was just me.

Same here - looks like the webpage might be down? When I enter the race selection screen, it's blank (I've reloaded it several times).

I can still access the races directly on the PS3 though.

I don't have the ability to hit my PS3 right now. I did clear cookies and everything on both mozilla and IE so doesn't seem to be a problem on client side.

at least i know it's not just me. But I seem to have it worse than some of you. I can't even get the races started from my ps3. It takes f o r e v e r to get everyone selected for the race, and then once i start it.... the screen stays black and nothing will happen. I've left it as long as 15-20min thinking maybe connection is just slow but even leaving it that long didn't start up the race. Is anyone else having problems like me? I wanna return the favor to everyone who has raced my bob ...

I was able to get one race going and finished. And ever since that one ... i've been having the problem

I noticed they've changed the layout on the remote race screen, can now see your own drivers along the top in the browser. Unable to select races remotely though. Yonis has said in his automated remote racing thread that he'd seen some images depicting 90 minute races so PD must be making changes. 👍

If that's the case, then that'll be a great update from PD! 👍
The longer the races are, the more prize credits and exp. points we're gonna earn! Hurray!

same overhere, site down, and it takes ages to start a race from my ps3(i think it has something to do with my very long friends list) so normally i started races from my pc, but that is not gonna happen for the moment, sorry guys can't race your bobs for the moment
They did make some changes, obvious there has been made a mistake in the 'race-selection' page.

About 20 minutes ago I selected drivers, clicked 'start race' and it's been sat on the 'obtaining data from the game server' screen since then. I've refreshed the window and even logged right out and gone back in only to be taken back to the same screen.

EU looks like it's having issues. I just logged out & logged into the US site & that's working fine.

European and Australian sites do not allow me to launch RR (error message).
US and Canada site simply doesn't load and gives a blank white page.
New Zealand site "does not exist"
Hong Kong / Japan sites used to work for me, but are still "obtaining data"

This is PD panicking because they brought the working world to a halt. Everyone back to work!

From what I can tell it looks like they were trying to roll out a new format / feature and it broke stuff instead. It sucks, but you gotta break some eggs to make an omelet. Hopefully at the end of this it'll have some new features... like being able to run more than one of your own racers!! (wishful thinking I guess).

I'm having issues today as well. I set the game to the remote server when I left for work, now that I'm at work it's acting the same as it would if my GT5 was not left in remote server mode... Though, my son may have walked by it and stole it for Netflix at home because he's 4 and he's evil like that, but it still too early for him to be doing that. Now that I've seen this thread, maybe it's not just me...

Been running races at work all day, although I've had to sign out/in of gt.com a couple of times to free up drivers.

I'm getting "Unable to retrieve race start information from the game server." from US and AU website now.. was working fine until 5 minutes ago

This is my first time doing this online. I put my driver into the race, but when I try to add other drivers from my friends list (and I know they are online), nothing is showing up. That screen that's supposed to show the other people is empty.

WTH!!!!

Looks like this has been resolved. Someone should lock down this thread so it doesn't turn into a "What am I doing wrong?" thread since there is already a remote race FAQ.
