Almost every good RE was renewed but not the best one. That's weird and thats why there is this petition.

This was such a great game especially for its time. I remember just about soiling my pants when the licker busted through the mirror. I still have this for the PS1. Such a great campaign. 👍

RE2 was the greatest game in this series to me. Possibly because it was the first game in the series I played.

I agree that it was the best in the series, with RE4 someway behind in second place. It was the first real survival horror I played, and I still have the original 2 disc PS1 copy.

While a remake of it sounds interesting, and I'm sure there are enough people out there that would support such a thing, I'm not too fussed about it right now. I still enjoy the original, but I do have a strange feeling that a possible remake would end up being a bit of a letdown, although it depends on how they go about altering the original story or gameplay.

If it's anything like the recent titles, then no dice. If it's anywhere near as good as the original, then I'll go grab my wallet.
