Actually he just uses a specific color pallete, not necessarily a filter. He used a lot of blues and grey's in MGS1 in MGS2 he used Blues and Greens (think the matrix), in MGS3 there were a lot of greens and yellows, and it looks like in MGS4 he's gone for a brown and yellow/green color pallete, similar to Black Hawk Down.

I watched Black Hawk Down only once, so I don't really remember the the color, but I do remember it had that acid-washed color look similar to Three Kings.

That's a movie I need to watch again. I cannot believe I've only seen it once. I thought it was a classic flick so there's really no reason why I've avoided it until now.

However, I don't care for the look in MGS4. It's a little too yellow/green. He's needs to tone it down a bit. It'd be awesome if we could control the color of the game ourselves, much like the photo processing in the photo albums of the previous MGS games. The original E3 trailer was perfect, IMO. It wasn't as yellow/green as current MGS4 trailers.

Official boxart released.

According to the official Japanese PS3 website, this game will be 5,980 Yen or $49.99.

Genji will be the same price.

^^^ I'm almost positive that's a Japan only price, seeing as how FPS titles don't sell in Japan.

As far as Genji goes, I'm sure that they are dropping the price to sell the titles, I mean, they don't stand to make much, so they don't stand to lose much either. Just like we saw the 20GB price drop, I'm sure this is for similar reasons.

If you click the users profile, you'll see that there's 3 other videos you can watch all from the same interview / demo.

I'm trying to figure out if you can customize your online character, or just his display picture....

So Im' considering making an RFOM forum...where other RFOM players can meet and set up matches, get to know each other, and set up in house tourneys etc.

I'm debating, however, between making a forum that is strictly RFOM, or a site that is geared toward RFOM, and future Insomniac titles as well, as I'm not sure if RFOM will get a sequel, in which case it's fan base would eventually die and the forum would go to waste...so...what do you guy's think? I've got the funds and knowledge, it wouldn't be hard at all...I'd just need to get it set up...I just need to know if the demand is there.

Isn't Insomniac going to have something like this? So, wouldn't that be a waste of your time and resources?

...Looks like I scared everyone off. :(

More details about the online for Resistance...

Eurogamer
Despite being one of the best-looking titles for the PlayStation 3 at launch (unless you're Ridge Racer 7 fetishist Tom, it's between this and MotorStorm really), Insomniac Games' Resistance: Fall of Man will not be integrated with the console's online functionality, specifically the built-in buddy list - instead, it will use its own buddy list, clan management system, and so on.

That's according to Insomniac boss Ted Price, who was speaking to Eurogamer's Rob Fahey earlier this week in an interview for the ThreeSpeech blog. While the decision to make the game run its own buddy list and so on is a blow to Sony's claims of an integrated online service - and in fact, it harks back to the bad old days of the PS2 online system - Price apparently left the door open for the possibility that the two systems could be reconciled in future, saying that "it is definitely possible to update the game via online."

At least the news about the rest of the game's online functions is more positive. According to Price, the game supports four player split screen, and up to 40 players online - with games being hosted on Sony's own servers for low-latency play. He claims that the team has played matches from locations as far flung as the USA, Spain and Japan without any problems, which is promising.
Hopefully the 40-player-online will make up for it.

I dont' see what the issue is really. I mean, you load up your PS3, messege your friends from your internal friends list on the XMB, tell them your room and password, etc, then start your game...whats the point, really, of having a friends list in every single game? I mean, I don't doubt that it will be difficult, seeing as how it's now in every SDK etc and finally been revealed, and it wlil be easy for developers to do that, but really, what's the issue? It's not *that* serious.

IMO, the friends list thing itself is not a huge issue, but it's an issue nonetheless, and a slap in the face to Sony's claims that it's online system is integrated, etc.

Their online system is still integrated. Stores, Usernames, and services are all integrated. They use Sony's servers, a universal username, and the store's are accessible through either the game or the playstation store.

So insomniac opted to use their own system for friends lists, IMO, it makes sense. Does everyone on my friends list for my user name play resistance? Why add them all if they don't *all* play the game? Why have a huge friends list from my PS3 XMB, if they won't all be on the game? Then I'm stuck sifting through those people? Doesn't make sense.

Not a hit, at all, IMO.

I'll agree to disagree. :)
