Voltaic, you seem to be up to speed with rF2. I've been considering getting the game. Is it in a good state yet? I'd read some things early on that suggested it still needed a fair amount of work.
Hello AnALOG
I'll do my best to answer your question, it all depends on your expectations and preferences. Undoubtedly rF2 needs further work, how much is hard to predict, one more updates could be the one that polishes it up. To date I have not found a more immersive SIM while driving, the FFB is superb.
Online races are fun and for the most part run without glitches. There are more and more online sites hosting rF2 events, including endurance requiring driver swaps.
On the down side is the limited content and the less than stellar graphics. I am confident this will be improved with every new update.
Personally I see rFactor2 as a well worth long term investment. I bought into pCARS in its early stages, as I did with Kunos Simulazioni, Simraceway and R3E, all have tremendous potential. As with rFactor, I am pretty sure 1 & 2 will remain viable and widespread long after others have lost their luster, that's why I bough the lifetime license.
If you have rFactor and love it, rFactor2 is a must, timing is up to you. If you never owned or used rF1 I suggest you invest $20 (or less) for the original, it will give you an idea and there is so much content it will keep you busy a long while. The one simulator(s)
I can't live without is rFactor (1 & 2).
I hope I was helpful, I am sure others in this thread can comment as well. I would also watch YouTube rF2 videos, it helps. I hope you join us online at some point. Cheers.
