SimHQ hosted the 6 hour race. They had a great server, but the administration over there is very lacking. I originally put that race on and they said they would "host". What they meant is that they'd take a fun public race and turn it into a pre-season race for the SCES which is not what we wanted at all. The orig plan was to test what rF2 could do. At least we tested driver swaps and ISI got a lot of info and what we did in that race will impact the final product directly.
They ruined the Pescarolo because they have no one over there who can mod and they hacked up the Pescarolo. It was almost undriveable with too little front df (the orig had no df, but at least it was balanced), the aero was very unbalanced and they ruined the tires. I would have much preferred to use the original unedited (physics-wise anyway. they did fix the HDR issue) car rather than what we ended up with. I didn't like the rules they use and we had a huge grid for the first 1 hour race but they lost half the field by screwing around for a month. My plan was to have 1 big 1 hour race then soon thereafter when we had interest, have the 6 hour race. SimHQ dragged it out so long we lost half the drivers for the big event.
Maybe the SCES series will be better, but they really need to work on organization and the rules. Not even to mention finding either a good mod to use or finding someone who can fix what they have. I will not be participating in SCES, it seems they also have a small user base.
