Well, Vehvwr doesn't work with enduracers car models. Not exactly reassuring for my first paint schemes

@Earth Thank you! Should be able to start designs within the next couple of days now...

@RACECAR It is very time consuming having to wait for rFactor to load everytime you want to see something, very frustrating that Vehvwr doesn't work. I've found it doesn't work for any of the mods I have downloaded, so it must be very specific to the way rFactor "code" their cars...

EDIT: Apparently you can keep rFactor open and reload the livery .dds file by selecting a different livery and then back. Will give it a go tonight.

Not sure where to go with the lambo, more complex than I'm used to, but I think this is a decent start.

Kinda like where you're going so far 👍

Working on Aston Martin for Swiftsmith was more straightforward than the Formula IS used in season 2... However the Audi R10 is insane, 2 sheets! I'm really excited about seeing my liveries come to life, but I'm not looking forward to the work required to do so... Bit optimistic really as I should have 2 entirely different designs with some logo's transferred between them...

@Earth could I get a preview on what I have so far? I wanna know if I got the fins right before continuing on the rest of the schemes.

I would like to withdraw the #41 Lambo, didn't really intend to have the third Lambo in the stable in the first place.

Man, that Audi template looks brutal!

You haven't seen anything until you worked with Codemasters GRiD or F1 Templates. The Dallara F312 template still keeps me up at night.

Also here are my liveries @Earth, if anything needs to be fixed let me know. I also left the windows files as .PSDs because I can't trust myself to get the transparencies right. https://www.mediafire.com/?8ixaez4svey2sdu

The Audi has 2 sheets! I've started the first of my ambitious designs, May need to run a testing livery again if not done in time! Liveries here are looking great once again, can't wait to see the field!

Also, on the glass stuff, are there any restrictions? Like the headlights being tinted?

Well, I'd have to see it and make sure it isnt too distracting

When can we choose the bonuses for our cars @Earth ?

Bonuses and setup sheets will probably go out via a private conversation Friday or Saturday this week

Also Mike458, which GT car did you choose? Also what 2 numbers?

That's still a W.I.P., but yes, if the templates are anywhere near friendly, I can make it work. Haven't had time for it during the weekend, but considering this coming week is only three days of school.. :sly:

For transparent windows you want everything to be transparent, so delete any layers or cut out anything that covers windows or the headlights.

For example

I'm surprised how much of the side striping actually aligned. Looks like I got some work to do though fixing up some stuff though. Thanks for the previews and windows help Earth.

@Earth V1.1, still thinking of how to do the numbers, but more pressing are two bits I can't find in the shots. The two bits in the rear windshield on the template, where do they go? With the red on them they should stick out more.

The best way of finding where a part goes is to fill it with a completely different colour and then spin the model around, and even then you might not find it. That only really helps if you have rFactor yourself though! The Audi R10 has got 2 versions of some parts so it could be that they are used on a newer / older model with another panel or aero part somewhere.

@BKGlover

I painted the 2 bits in the rear windshield blue and got this

Update on transparent Windshields. Turns out I was wrong a bit on the windshields. You dont want them to be 100% transparent. If they are 100% transparent then in the game it looks like the car doesnt have a windshield alot of the time with limited reflections on the glass. Heres the windshield of a Lamborghini and a Peugeot 908 from the modders to give you an idea of how transparent they should be. I've erased one half of the front windshield and left the other half untouched to help show the difference/how much opacity you should use. You need something on the windshield for light to reflect off of.

At least windows are 1 thing I don't have to worry about with the Audi R10!

I haven't even thought about Helmet designs yet though... Is the helmet template the same as one used in Season 2? If so I will use the helmet from that for both designs.

Will upload a testing livery tonight here, may even give hints to eventual designs... I'm hoping my liveries will be done (including the launch / unveiling post) before the test day on 23rd May and then I'd even have time for helmet designs before June 6th itself. Going to be tight though, and I may be completely out of love with Photoshop by then anyway!

Going to create a painters profile on rFactorCentral tonight, I do BATracer design requests but I can see myself doing 3D designs more often.

Swift Autosport Livery and Sponsor Announcement
May 10th, 2015

With the 24 Hours Of Le Mans coming soon Swift Autosport has decided it's time to announce the driver line-up for all three cars.

For the number 1 car the driver will be Tim Kourting. Tim has 15, 24 Hour Of Le Mans wins. 5 of which are overall. The rest of which being GT3.

The second of three drivers that will be piloting the #1 car is Dylan Wolfgang. Dylan has 3, 24 Hours Of Le Mans wins. All three being in a factory supported Chevy.

The last driver in the #1 Aston Martin is a driver who will be making his endurance, and multi-class racing debut. The last driver will be Nick Hannigan. Swift Autosport is hoping for a decent result from this #1 car.

The next set of three drivers is headed by rookie driver Mike Fecko. Mike has driven in the TUDOR United Sportscar Series. He's currently 8th in the drivers standing.

The next driver in the #10 car is William Bryant. William has raced the 24 Hours Of Le Mans, 3 times each time having a malfunction in the car. William is hoping to finally have a car to bring home the win.

The final driver in the car will be Matt Bell. This will be Matt Bell's first attempt at the 24 Hours. Matt however has experience in both the Continental Tire Sportscar Challenge, and the TUDOR United Sportscar Series. Matt is hoping his first attempt will bring him a win.

The last driver line-up will consist of veteran driver Seth Smith. Seth has multiple wins all over the world. The only race that has escaped him is the 24 Hours Of Le Mans. Seth is hoping to finally achieve victory here in Le Mans.

The second driver will be Sabine Schmitz. Not much needs to be said about her other than she's fast.

The final driver for the #50 car is also a veteran. Swift Autosport has signed Patrick Dempsey. Patrick has raced in the 24 Hours Of Le Mans multiple times. With that kind of line-up the #50 Swift Autosport Aston Martin should have a good shot at the win.

Here are the paint schemes that will be seen for the Swift Autosport.

Interesting. I can only assume the sides with the white stripe were underneath that vent and out of sight. I may play with it some more, perhaps try to find the side panels connected to the fins on the back, but I think this will be as far as I take the 79.
