1983 Volkswagen Rabbit GTI - Right now: Stock snowflake wheels sitting on 195/60-14 Falken Azenis, Neuspeed front upper and lower tie-bars, Autotech rear upper tie bar, Koni Sport shocks with stock springs (Neuspeed Race Springs to come). Engine is a "mostly stock" JH 1.8L 8V with the Euro (g-grind) cam and has ~115k miles on it; the chassis is at 203,+++. Not very heavy (2200 pounds with me, full interior and 1/4 tank of gas) and built to have more fun in the twisties than on the straights.
In the far future: Either a 2L 16V or a 1.8T transplant. Maybe I'll mix the two and turbo the 2L 16V combo
1969 Corvette Stingray - Right now: No engine no gas tank and a partly assembled suspension. 550 pound front coil springs, 360 pound transverse fiberglass rear monospring, KYB shocks, 295/50-15s on all four corners.
In the future: (Like summer 2004) A carbureted LT1/LT4 engine from a 1992-1997 Camaro/Corvette/Firebird with a Viper T56 and 4.56:1 differential gears. Also trying to build a belly pan for better under car aero management.
In the far future: All aluminum, fuel injected LS1/LS2/LS6/LS7 based small-block 427. Can't decide whether or not to turbo/twin turbo/supercharge an engine that could already post over 450 HP without a blower of some kind. Rear 295/50-15s to at least 315/??-18 and fronts down to 275/??-17 (my front 295s rub the sway bar and fenders) *cough* fiberglass *cough* in extreme R and L turns. That's not good.
49/51 Weight bias from the factory; aiming to keep that stat close so it can be a beast on the straights that also pulls more than 1G on the skidpad.
