The default ratios may change due to extra torque being added.
Yes, that's what I'm talking about but sometimes I can't express myself clear enough. :D:tup: The torque word didn't came up to my mouth/hand.:lol:
any change in final gear will have an effect on cars handling/turning ability in corners, as the final gear and LSD work in tandem to apply power from the transmission to drive wheels (during accelerating and braking:))
And yes, I thought the same all the time when some came up with that Final Gear change. 👍:)
I'm so glad you said what you said and pointed out that clearly. :)

Thank you my good friend,

You are most welcome, glad to help.

@danbojte Hows the car for racing ? I just did a few laps at Spa with the Lexus, this time proper power, going for lowest aero, aiming for more mechanical grip to flat out at Eau Rouge and the high speed curve before last chicane, got 2:21s in 1st lap ( offline ), should be easy 2:22s online with tire/fuel.

EDIT : RX7, faster for now, similar spec, lowest aero, mechanical grip focus, it need a bit higher front aero than Lexus, a lower final custom ratio with 6th gear as slipstream/top speed use, easily clocked in 2:20s flat offline, about a second or so quicker, but the Lexus had stock custom ratio.

Both have high camber, zero toe, same ARB, same high lock LSD 2 Way and max ride height for those curbs :P

Thank you, my friend. :) 👍
I haven't made further testings since Jesper's setups. I was focused on WRS's Lotus on CM tyres. :P

Yes, the Aero is very important to fine tune for these races. I will try gladly any tune you can build/test, you know that. Remember the CRAP series? :sly:

Both cars have some margin to set for easier handling. Lowering spring rate may necessary for La Sarthe and Nurb 24H ( try 2kg/mm lower first )

The RX7 has clear advantage in straight line, able to reach close to 260kmh at Spa uphill straight, the Lexus barely touch 250kmh. Subaru might be better for Nurb 24H.
The Lexus has slightly better lateral grip on similar aero/camber/toe/ARB, also more stable under braking than RX7.

EDIT : Added alternative Lexus lower final ratios.

So glad you've focused on mechanical grip as a priority for these cars.
IMO, a great race car setup will get every ounce of mechanical grip possible before looking for any additional aero grip. Combine the two sources of grip and you end up with a setup as good as it can be.
Well done :) 👍

The RX7 has excellent acceleration and top speed.

The Lexus seems to be the slowest of the bunch, mainly in straight line, Subaru is just as FAST as RX7. I added Lexus alternative lower final custom ratio on the post above, I'll write it here, just in case :

Alternative Lower Final with 6th for slipstream/top speed:

DOG CLUTCH TRANSMISSION

Install all power parts
Set Default
Use Default Final
Set Auto Max Speed at 180kmh / 112mph
Adjust each gear :
1st 4.000
2nd 3.000
3rd 2.300
4th 1.800
5th 1.500
6th 1.300
Set Final 2.575

I also tested the Subaru GT300, pretty good car, while the RX7 did flat 2:20s, the Impreza GT300 did 2:19s , the AWD and power advantage is real. With higher aero, still able to go over 250kmh at the top of the hill at Spa. I optimized the ride height on the Impreza using data logger ride height reading around the most demanding parts of Spa ( Eau Rouge and the last chicane - flat out on both ).

Subaru Impreza GT300 - 2:19s at Spa ( 1st lap )

BB 3/7
Weight Ballast Position : -27, 52kg as per rule, 54/46 distribution

Aero : 350 / 350 - OPTIONAL 300 / 300

Suspension

Front, Rear
Ride Height: 66 66 -the magic number :P
Spring Rate: 14.00 14.00
Dampers (Compression): 4 1
Dampers (Extension): 10 10
Anti-Roll Bars: 2 7
Camber Angle: 2.5 2.5
Toe Angle: 0.00 0.00

DOG CLUTCH TRANSMISSION

Install all power parts
Set Default
Use Default Final
Set Auto Max Speed at 180kmh / 112mph
Adjust each gear :
1st 3.700
2nd 2.700
3rd 2.000
4th 1.600
5th 1.350
6th 1.200
Set Final 2.700

LSD
Front
Initial Torque : 5
Acceleration Sensitivity: 15
Braking Sensitivity: 5

Rear
Initial Torque : 5
Acceleration Sensitivity: 60
Braking Sensitivity: 15

Torque Distributing Center Differential
Front/Rear = 35 : 65

Notice the roll bar and damper values  :D The LSD also set for rotation, while torque split is set after using 50:50 tweaking the suspension. It has unique exit handling which may need to get used to. The 2:19s lap uses 350/350 aero.

@danbojte You can make the Lexus more eager to turn by increasing rear damper extension to 2, while for more predictable handling, lower both LSD accel and brake to 16 ( same initial ) or lower all to 15 or 12. Increasing aero may be good for long distance racing, but the race is 20 minutes right, that would be less than 10 laps, not sure the tire condition near the end of the race, if it's going to be low grip, increase aero, use front at max aero and rear around 50 to 100 higher.

@Ridox2JZGTE @gt6champnk69 @OdeFinn
Thank you all for your kindness and effort! 👍 The fact is I quite suck with tuning or fine tweaking also. :dunce: For me all would be a trial and error process and I don't have the necessary time for this.  That's why I'm asking for help from all of you - advanced tuners, and I would like, only if it's possible, finished, already tested setups.

I might get time to do bit more advanced tune from those raw ones what I sent, like said those were just quick ones to get car go in relaxed manner for longer races without compromising tires.

Recommended setting for DS3 user :

Steering sensitivity at +1 or +2, all aids off, except ABS 1 ( if not comfortable with ABS 0 ) with 7/8 brake balance as starting point.

Notes :

Special replica made long ago, it was not refined until recently. Based on Best Motoring 1996 Super Battle, pitting Japan vs Italy vs Germany, in a battle between NISMO 400R, Ferrari F40 and Porsche 911 GT2 Turbo ClubSport, as well a few other lesser performance cars like Honda NSX-R, Ferrari 328GTB AraiBankin SPL, KnightSports RX7 , Porsche 911 Turbo, Carrera RS, R33 GTR and Ferrari F355 Berlinetta.

The lap record by NISMO 400R was 1:04.07, only bested by F40 driven by Keiichi Tsuchiya at 1:03.73. The Porsche 911 GT2 Turbo ClubSport lost to the NISMO 400R despite having 430PS and 1290kg weight ( advantage in power to weight ratio )

The power for NISMO 400R is based on calculation if the official NISMO power at 400PS is at the rear wheel - resulting in 440+PS, this is pretty close to the reference lap record onboard video, although the real car is still more powerful ( about 470PS range ) as it can use 3rd gear earlier on exit, and Dunlop esses, as well as earlier shifting up to 4th on back straight and before 1st turn. Tire is CS, with 1552kg weight and 56/44 distribution.

I provided several replay of test laps. One of them at Tsukuba, offline it can do 1:03s, which should be close to flat 1:04s online with tire/fuel usage.

Enjoy

@Ridox2JZGTE, @danbojte asked to have these public, that's why putting here.

Little bit polished Impreza GT300, anyone can freely edit it more, I'd like to hear improvements too.
Brake Bias etc are just standard 5/5, what's best depends on driver.

If not mentioned then on stock value, oils changed and power as WRCWRS  event needs, engine stage 3 and oiled running racing hard with 0% limiter and 52kg ballast, 552pp 438hp.
I'm doing this on noABS, actual race probably accepts ABS?

Camber(-) 1.6/1.6
Toe -0.08/+0.00 (rear +0.01 would make good and brake bias 5/6 with ABS)

270kmh initial final 4.300 gearbox
2.572
1.816
1.366
1.117
0.920
0.760
Final 4.660

LSD
Front 5/7/6
Rear 9/36/15
F/R t torque distribution 10:90

Wings 201/451
Ballast 52kg @-3

Trust the Finn to see Subaru and think Rally ;)
It has something for it too, in case of emergency just floor it and everything goes well.. ;)

 Good point! Of course I trust and appreciate him. ;) 👍

Next I'll TT-ing the Subarus.
Added minimal change on tune after testing online, rear toe +0.01 and brake bias 5/6 on ABS.
No need to worry tire wear on 20min race, careless driving (2:21-2:22 laps) 10 laps and no changes on laptimes. Tested on Fast wear and 9th lap it changed from F8/8 R9/9 to 7/7 on front rear stays 9, but doesn't make big difference on handling.
If race is held on normal tire wear you can't probably even drop a single number on tires..

@danbojte checked Lexus more, hard car to get on line with Subaru, ~0.5 sec slower(2:20.5) on Spa, 2kmh slower top speed(251kmh). These from offline comparison, maybe on tomorrow setting it on online and checking how tires melt.. Mazda..well I have kinda overdose from it, maybe doing something to it, maybe not..(probably not)
When your race is?

Did you run high aero with the Lexus ? I find the top speed really lacking on my setup.

Did you run high aero with the Lexus ? I find the top speed really lacking on my setup.
Practically yes, otherwise it's just duck on straights, it can run"decent " times with "normal" aero, but going fast on corners isn't helping if track has so long straight sections.
That "zero" aero makes this car bit harder to setup in competitive way, I'm still staying on first ideology of setting these, keeping simple and basic.
Currently I'm fighting on two different side effects on car, can only choose one to eliminated, If I don't change stock springs.. Current condition will give challenge to Subaru on track, acceleration on medium speeds it might be faster, hanging on side at higher speeds and drafting final 5-7kmh.

Will put it here soon if Dan wants to try out and choose his choice of setup for race.
I'm not doing RX, so one option lesser for Mazda.

Edit: figured out easy solution, makes it more stable overall, it will give hard time to Subaru, pressuring thru whole track..
IMG_20161116_122451.jpg

Driving against 2:19.9 ghost of Subaru, Lexus will stay in lead till end of straight after eau rouge, then Subaru tekes lead due slightly better cornering on chicane.
