Man, I can't believe he died. He had severe pneumonia. Poor guy.

Discuss and leave sentiments for the godfather of soul.

to quote LA style "James Brown.. is dead"

I gasped audibly when i saw the headline just now. My wife asked what was wrong and when I told her she said, "Who is James Brown?". Argh, you sheltered Japanese woman....

During the week, my coworker wouldn't stop with that celebrities die in three thing. I'll never hear the end of it now. Wow. James Brown. Dead.

i know james brown is old.. but damn... I wish he'd taken better care of himself. Rest in Peace

This will be my "attempt" at funny when it's not called for. :dopey:

My friend was watching the Chapelle show and saying "I'm Rick James Bitch" repeatedly for a month. He thought it was real funny. It got old towards the end of the month and one day he slipped and said I'm James brown instead of Rick James. Fast forward a little later, we all got together one night, ended up playing quarters, and I made him say "I'm James Brown bitch". By then he had confused the two so much he didn't know the right one to use.

Ok, I'll shut up now.

RIP James Brown

I was incredibly surprised to hear this, seeing as he was still so lively and put on a great show when he was on Friday Night With Johnathon Ross not too long ago.

He's been an inspiration to many with his amazing music and I'm sure it'll stand the test of time.

Long live the Godfather of soul.

Whenever I think of James Brown, it's him saying 'Heh!' in his own special way.
A true soul legend.

While flipping channels today, I heard the news during a commercial on BET. I've been a big fan of his work for years, even if his personality was a bit on the "I don't know karate...but I know ka-ray-zee!" side. No matter: He's still the conductor of the Night Train, master of the Payback, and the Funky President, among other titles.

While driving back from Christmas dinner tonight, I selected some of his works again. Very appropriate the song Money won't change you...but time will came up first.

There's no replacement for him, he was truly a one of a kind industry-shaper.

It really shocked me when I heard he died. I used to listen to his music all the time When I was little. I will never forget Today. I've just fired up GT4 to listen His song "Super Bad" in honor of him. even as he has left us expectedly today, He still got soul. you will be sorely missed. "holds up Candle" Rest In Peace.

He had "ants in his pants, and had to dance."

Get Up "Sex Machine" is an awesome song.

RIP
