:( Never thought he'd be the next guy on his way to the great racetrack in the sky, I'm pretty sure he'd mostly recovered from his chemo earlier in the year which makes it a real downer.

RIP Richo.

RIP Jason Richards. A great loss to Australian & New Zealand motor sport community.

New Zealand, Australia and the motorsport world has lost one of the most genuine nice guys. My condolences to your Wife and children.👎

One of the nicest guys in the motorsport community.

R.I.P Jason Richards. :(

I was in a shop just 1/2 hour ago when the news was on the radio. That's where I heard this, very sad.

He always had such a smiling and happy personality.

RIP Jason, he was a fighter and he didn't let his condition stop him from racing. He was as courageous as anyone the way he came back and won races and even did excellent in his V8 return. A great loss to the whole motorsport community and society ....

RIP, mate. This is a really sad day. He was one of my favourite drivers, a great too, he deserved to get a Bathurst win but no, this is just wrong, he didn't deserve this. I have no more to say. :(

EDIT: It's taken me 5 and a half hours to be able to finally express words on this.

This has been a dark year in motorsport, it's horrific and heart breaking to see Jason leave us so soon. This loss has definitely hit hardest, Rest In Peace, Jase. Love to Jason's family, friends, supporters and his fans, and I wish you enjoy your time in the afterlife, or the next one. :(

Rest in peace Jason Richards. The nicest, happiest, yet tough guy on and off the track. You will be sorely missed, but not forgotten

One of the good guys in the V8 Supercars... RIP Jason Richards (Jase). :( --- Randy

Damn, it seems like just a couple of months ago he was on V8XTRA saying how he was doing well and looking forward to the future :(. Sad news indeed.

As much as I didn't like to admit it, the writing was on the wall for me at Sandown when he pretty much said the experimental drugs had failed and that the cancer had spread to his bones.

So sad. Top all round guy. This close to christmas aswell :(

Man, this is terrible. Jason was a great guy and a very good driver too. He'll certainly be missed around the V8 Supercar paddock.

To everyone that has ToCA 3/V8 Supercars 3- Skython and I are (right now) hosting an online memorial race in memory of Jason Richards.

It is such a shame. I am glad that I had the opportunity to meet him. He was a great bloke and it is a big loss to NZ/Australian motorsport. RIP.
