Is there a program that will do this? I've got a video of a concert and I want to rip the audio from it so I can just listen to the music without having to watch the video. Any tips appreciated. :)

Umm... Wav's are a standard codec for Winamp, Jimmy. He doesn't need to go searching for it.

It sounds like there is a coding problem with VirtualDub. Can you try and rip the sound to a different format? Like .mpc or .midi? Maybe that would free up your error.

Don't know if this is a slighty relevent question but......

How can I rip music off a DVD.....some songs are not found on any CD's because they are recorded just for the film..... :guilty:

Are there any FREE programs I can use because I only need 2 songs......can anyone help?

thanks :) 👍

Integra Type R
No, you can only "Save as .WAV".
Have you tried saving the WAV and then encoding it as an MP3... or FLAC if you don't want to lose any quality.

Well, I've never tried it but this should work:
  • Download DVD Decrypter
  • Rip the DVD .vob files
  • Open them with VirtualDub
  • "Save as .WAV"

It worked!......well kinda :guilty: .....I managed to get the VOB file I want onto the computer but when I used virtual dub I could play the video clip but there was no audio (which is the bit I want!)...it says that the audio could not be extracted.....It gave hints that it was somthing to do with a dvix problem......I don't think that it was taken from the DVD in the first place  ......are there are solutions to this that you can think of...........im soo close, yet so far! :ouch:......all I need is 2 wav files and then convert them to mp3.....

thanks in advance :) 👍

After using VirtualDub, I've got like 4 .avi movies, now how do I make this into one big file?
Open one of them in VirtualDub. File > Appened AVI Segment. Keep appending these AVIs until you have all 4 in the one file.

Now, if you want to keep them as AVIs, go to Video > Direct Stream Copy and Audio > Direct Stream Copy then save the file. Otherwise, if you keep it at Full Processing Mode it'll be a massive file. If you want to compress it as DivX or something, you'll have to set that up in Video > Compression and make sure Full Processing Mode is enabled.

Holly Shiat, I did this yesterday and 29 minutes into the movie ended up being about 12GB, I only have a 40GB hard-drive so that movie will take up my whole drive. I got a bunch of Windows warnings of not enough diskspace.
