mmmm well how far are you into :gt:3 with how many Cr (credits, cash :2cents: ) ?

Well anyway purchase the best Roadster you can without breaking the rules :mazda: MX-5 1.8 the later model and most expensive version is best... :gcar:

Then fit a nice pair of Super Slicks (Hard) Tyres.... :burnout:

Get every corner as precise as possible, use the slip streams when available to overtake and pit when neccersary...

Qualify to gain a good grid position, and don't worry if you aren't quick for the first few laps cause those slicks will need to warm up to get grip, the other cars :car: will pit earlier than you so you'll gain an advantage.....

And remember to take a break as the Roadsters don't give a fast endurance race....:coffee:

Hope that does it :D

First things first... you are allowed to have racing tires for this enduro, so a set of slick tires is what you want. Never ever use anything softer than slicks for enduros, they wear out too quickly. Secondly, take this car to the Run & Setting in your home and practice the hoo-hah out of Apricot Hill until you're used to the car's handling and can get around the track efficiently. (I was turning in lap times of around 1:45, which is kinda slow but will work just fine.)

Now, first off for the race itself... don't skip qualifying! Trust me, starting up front in second or even third is where you want to be, so you can forget about battling with the slower traffic and get right into racing. Most likely the other LS will start to pull away at the outset, but from what I've noticed it runs a rather soft tire compound and has to pit in quite frequently. On the other hand, the slick tires on your car will last for 15 laps provided you aren't overdriving them, so you'll only have to stop twice for fresh tires on laps 15 and 30. This gives you a huge time advantage as the race goes on.

Just stay patient and don't try to fight with the car, and you'll have no troubles with this one. It's a long race (about 70 minutes), so you don't want to wear yourself or your car out 10 laps into it.

get super slicks (the cheapest racing tires) and set both ASM and TCS to 0.

then don't worry if they're faster than you, they pit way more often

To be honest, I can't really recommend super slicks... sure they last a lot longer and they're cheap, but you lose time on the track by having to slow more for the corners. They also seem to be all but useless in the series races that are only 2, 3, 5 laps long as they don't warm up fast enough, so if you're planning to use the car outside the enduro you'd have problems there. Plain ol' slicks are more practical as an all-around tire in my opinion, even if they cost a little more.

Yep, forgot about that (duh!). You can do that, though it's not absolutely vital. I think the inital gain is only 8HP, so it won't make a monumental difference since most of your time will be made up while the other cars are pitting... of course the extra edge couldn't hurt either.

Just so long as the tires, oil and wheels are the only things you change, otherwise the car isn't eligible for that race anymore.

How many qualifying laps did you run? If you only did one or two, then most likely your tires weren't warmed up yet and costing you a little time.

Try running about 6 consecutive laps and see how it works out. The warmup laps will do you good anyway, it'll let you get used to handling your car in racing conditions.

Got it on the first try. Once I saw the other LS had to pit in so many times I knew all I had to do to win was run consistent lap times and not abuse the tires, and of course keep from getting impatient as the race dragged on and my thumbs started to get sore...

Welcome to GTP! :p

Try not to drift (make the car go sideways) or go off the road. Rumble strips are cool but avoid going into grass and dirt.

To hlep with a bit of advice. The one miata that seems to outrun you, will pit every 3 laps. My thought is he's running Running super softs. I ran a miata LS on medium slick and had to pit every 8 laps (If I recall). I was able to lap every car twice except for the leader.

I'm no mario andretti either. The trick is all about smooth. If you can keep momentum through the corners, you'll exit the turn faster, and ahead of the AI.

Remember, to win the race, you have to be in first AT the FINISH LINE. You don't have to hold first place the entire race. Seems obvious, but it means take your time and work your way up through the field.

That's a very good point. This race is all about patience, not racing the other cars. If you start to get impatient and run too hard, you'll only start making costly mistakes.

I don't think the other LS is running Super Softs, though. I can barely get five laps out of Medium tires, so I don't think Super Softs would even last two laps.

To all of the above. Exactly right. Race the Clock, not the other cars. Shoot for 1:40-1:45 laps. Use the slicks and pit every 10-15 laps and you will win. You only have to win by 0.001 sec to win. Stay patient, drive smooth, and you will kick butt.

Buy the most expensive Miata, the 1.8

change the oil, and get super slick tyres

i did this race last night and won by 2 laps, the lead car pitted every third lap, and my super slicks lasted the whole 40 laps!

get 1.45 to 1.50 for every lap and it's too easy!

I gotta be honest, I just bought the best MX-5 (Miata) I could, did an oil change, put hard tyres on, and went straight into the the race, and won it easily! The AI pit a lot more times than me, so even though I was slower, I caught up on pit strategy. I didn't bother qualifying for the race, I never do for the enduros (or any other races for that matter).

Yes, I find it easy to win with hard tyres also. I once tried the race with stock tyres, but I still won with no sweat. Perhaps that's because I used the best MX-5. I might have some challenge with a worse MX-5.

I used exactly as above: super slicks/slicks, best MX-5, and an oil change. You are running smooth if you can pit between 8-12 laps and you encounter lap traffic by at least lap 23. Lower than 20 and you can taste gold.

This track is all about smooth, with that low powered Miata, you can do most of the track without excessive braking as long as you tip-toe on the rumble strips.

I also noticed through out the 40 laps that the AI does not corner the hairpin or the shicane(sp) very well.

Hello, Serifiz. Welcome to GT Planet. Your "Spec Miata" experience was pretty much exactly like mine! Too bad I only won... another Miata.
