*COUGCOUGH* Pako *COUGHCOUGH*

;)

EDIT: Duck; you, me Pako, and who wants to sing??? We'll be called "Grand Touring" :D

I was trying to download this video last night from GameSpot but I didn't succeed. Now I'll have until tonight to watch it. :(

I'll play vocals! I usually walk around singing out loud half the time anyways (my girlfriend loves it when she's sleeping in the morning), atleast now I'll be putting it too good use.

I guess now I have to go make 3 friends that don't mind being the band for my amazing vocal talent.

Also, on DLC:

Speaking of jamming to songs, MTV let us in on its plans for the various tracks -- the most impressive of which is a proposed 100+ downloadable tunes in the game's first year alone. As an added bonus, the EA/ MTV/ Harmonix trio is using its muscle and money to secure as many master tracks as possible. Of the eight announced songs so far, six of them are the original masters ("Won't Get Fooled Again" from The Who, "Suffragette City" from David Bowie, "Don't Fear the Reaper" from Blue Oyster Cult, "In Bloom" from Nirvana, "Main Offender" from The Hives, and "Say it Ain't So" from Weezer), with only two covers ("Mississippi Queen" from Mountain and "Paranoid" from Black Sabbath). Obviously, that's a pretty good ratio and Harmonix says that it will continue to go after originals songs wherever possible.

And new tracks:
  • Mountain "Mississippi Queen"
  • The Hives "Main Offender"
  • David Bowie "Suffragette City"
  • BOC "(Don't Fear) The Reaper"

EDIT: Hmm, seems these could be placeholder dates from GameStop so don't take these numbers as truth... yet.

Nailing down a Rock Band peripheral price has been almost as difficult as explaining how Keith Richards is still alive. An employee of Game Crazy sent us a print out of the pricing list which they received on July 3. The only thing that really jumps out is the Xbox 360 guitar price being $20 more than the PS3 (more on this in a second). Much of the information is still in line with the GameStop pricing reported months ago. Officially a Harmonix representative says, "We have not released any pricing details regarding Rock Band as of yet, but stay tuned."

The price discrepancy could go back to the issue from last year regarding Red Octane and their attempt to get a wireless guitar on the Xbox 360. Turns out to license Microsoft's proprietary wireless technology would have increased the cost of the wireless guitar and the company decided not to do it. Could $20 be the magic number being tacked on for the consumer? This would also assume, if the pricing is correct, that neither the drum set nor the microphone would be wireless given the lack of a price difference between the two systems. Although, we do have a statement regarding the price discrepancy as well. We were told by the Harmonix rep, "I am not aware of a price discrepancy." It looks like it's going to be a while before the actual, solid, final price of the peripherals gets nailed down. Right now, it's still all rumor and speculation -- officially.

From a GameCrazy employee. Might be fake, but nonetheless a more expensive 360 Rock Band guitar may become reality. 👎

IMO, the goal of playing video games is giving you the chance to experience things that you can (or should :P) never experience in your normal life: driving a F1 car, flying a plane, beating the hell out of other people...

But playing in a band is something you can perfectly do yourself in real life...

Reality is much more thrilling and rewarding than a computergame, so... If you can do something easily in real life, why do it in a game?

Because some people can't afford to buy a $1000 guitar and $500 amp, then learn how to play. Then spend the same amount on a bass and drums.

And considering they don't play themselves, you have to play along with an MP3 or find some friends that can play. Then there is the whole ordeal of trying to get practices put together, making time between each player's work schedule to play...

ETC!

Edit: On second thought, everybody should be able to buy a car and go to Nurburgring too, right?

It's not about that. Anyone can turn up the stereo and start dancing, so why is the DDR franchise so successful? Because it's fun!

I was looking at the X360 page of Rock Band on IGN and 3 videos are on there said to be on there since... today so sorry if this is a repost but here they are.

So MS didn't get a timed exclusive... and I have some killer news. From the EA Conference:
  • Full albums will be available as DLC. The Who - Who's Next is the first album
  • Tons of Metallica songs as DLC
  • Bon Jovi - Wanted Dead or Alive confirmed in game
  • Indie bands can submit their music for the game
  • Little Steven from Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band is picking the music for DLC
  • New DLC every week
This is going to be huge

Why don't you go rain on someone else's parade. :(

lol sorry:(. They should've relized they made no money of the last DLC and probably seen/heard about that petition, so i'd say it will be cheaper...hopefully.

You can buy a decent beginner guitar + amp for less than 200 dollar (same for bass, some more for drums). You really don't have to spend $1500... For the price of a 500$ PS3 and the game + controllers (and tv maybe), you can get a very nice instrument .And you can learn how to play yourself easily, you don't even need to read music notes. .

If you have ever played a real guitar, you have to agree with me that pressing some buttons on a guitar-shaped controller is nothing like it. The real thing is 10 times more better than a computer imitation, and when you can get the real thing for the same price, why take an imitation?

Because I bought a beginner bass and amp for $100 used and they suck horribly. I don't have the time/money to take guitar lessons and I'm not having much luck trying to teach myself.

Also, for $200 you get to play guitar, bass. and drums. You need about $800 at least to do that in real life.

plus some people can be great at guitar hero but not have the co-ordination or pateince to play a real guitar.
