As several of us have gotten as far as to the S class endurances, I figured out that we could need some strategy exchange! These races are properly hard, and need a bit of thinking because of the accelerated tire wear and fuel depletion.
Willow Springs: 650 PP Road car race - 8 laps/Willow Springs: Big Willow.
The main opponent to watch out for here is the Mclaren F1. When I attempted my first race, I found that this car didn't make a pitstop! I did my first run with the GT-R Black Edition, a poor choice really. The GT-R eats tires at this track, so the grip loss would mean that you will suffer, even with a pitstop. In fuel economy though, it could do almost exactly 2 laps in half a tank.
the Xbow R is much easier on the tires and fuel, and can do a full run without a pit, but it is a bit of a handful for inexperienced drivers.
I finally got gold with the BMW M5 '09. I fully tuned it, threw on some aero and did some basic tuning. It does need a pit, but my main rival was a Huyuararaiara, which also needs one. Pit at the end of lap 4, and just power though. I got ahead of the Huuuurarhra at the right hander at the top of the hill, and at the final stretch, went bingo on fuel about 200m before the finish line! The M5 is also oddly good at keeping grip with worn tires.
Do come with input yourselves, and I will compile it in the OP for everyone to see.
