So I did the 172 laps in the endurance suzuka race with a controller using the x2010 and my fastest lap was only a 1:13.244, is it even possible to get two laps in under 1:05 each? This seems like a crazy elite time.

That was thing I noticed.

I golded the Vettel Challenge, then I made the Suzuka endurance, and I couldn't seem to find the same pace, maybe 1:10, 1:11 at best, even when I can clock gold times over and over in the Suzuka Vettel Challenge.

Sure, I have golded Vettel Challenge after few tries with my DS3, my laps were about 1:05:5xx and 1:04:3xx. Golding with 2:09:8xx

'A few tries'?

That's a pretty bold claim given how difficult this test is even for the most talented drivers using wheels.

I'm not slow, and even with a G27 it took me several hours each to gold Suzuka and Nurburgring GP.

If you're really that fast you should come join the WRS as I can't imagine you're getting much competition elsewhere 👍

So its possible with a controller I'm assuming. I do own a DFGT but I have nothing solid to mount it on and that makes it difficult to use bc it moves while I'm trying to steer. I'm still looking for a good solid mounting setup and until then I'm stuck with the DS3.

I just hate to see my platinum attempt (of which I'm getting very close to) go down in flames bc of one stupid trophy. Any other suggestions for setup? I typically have all aids off with ABS on 1. Should I be using some of them?

Turn Skid Recovery Force ON.

What exactly does skid recovery force do when you're driving? How does it affect the cars handling?
Maybe you should try it yourself with & without SRF on. So much of it is down to personal preference & skill level anyway, the only opinion that really counts is your own.

I can't give you many details but at least for me on the Sebastian Loeb challenges, they were impossible for me. Then I tried default TC (5), which is what I always do, and just Skid Recovery Force and I was able to gold 2 of them. One on the 1st try and the other on the 2nd. I tried to get the 3rd one (which was bronze) but that was after a long GT5 dry spell (lol) so I might try again eventually

If I was good I wouldn't have needed it, but I'm not so I do

i just beat suzuka gold 20 minutes ago the last of the vettel to get my platinum, suzuka took so long, 15+ hours within a 3 day span, the other two i did within a day each, i got lucky on suzuka and now its over :)

i had a lucky hot lap of 1:03.9xx to make up my mediocre first lap of 1:05.9xx

i was using DS3 with these settings.

TCS:0
Skid: on
ABS:10
Sensitivity: 7
RA front: 7
RA rear: 8

these were the settings that got me gold on all 3.

To all of you that got gold.. welldone!
i can only get bronze in monza and the other 2 seem imposible lol.

A few tries on the internet usually equates to "after many hours of trying i did it after a few tries". Don't forget, this is the internet and your epeen must always be bigger than it actually is ^^.

The challenges are very doable, but they are elitist and I think that is the point.

Skid force recovery increases the grip when traction is lost, so essencially if with it on you launch a car into a corner and the result is lack of grip due to too much speed causing understeer or a loss of control, SFR essencially turns the grip up for a moment allowing you to carry on.... In other words it makes you a LOT faster.

Thanks for the explanation of the SRF feature! I feel I will complete these challenges eventually though I may not be an elitist I am definitely a completionist and will settle for no less than the platinum (just ask my copy of gta4, after 1000 rounds of hangman's noose lol).

As for now I burned myself out on too many straight hours of gt5. Gonna have to let my mind rest and play my free copy of infamous for a week or two before I get back to the grind.

Thank you!

I'm taking a break from WRS and decided to put an effort into the Vettel challenge. I only bronsed them the first time around and then just didn't bother to try more but now I thought I would go for gold. And it's just so so frustrating. I've put in a couple of hours now and I barely managed silver on Suzuka. It lifts my spirit to know that even a D1G guys struggles and it proves that it's not me, it's just a pretty tough challenge

They should allow us to change camber ride height and so on think it would be more achievable then done 1 good lap numerous times and then seem to tense up and make stupid little mistakes on second laps on Suzuka and Nurburgring set up 1 of my red bull's for normal a spec races and by putting camber above 6.5 both front and rear allows much later breaking and car is much more responsive still takes some getting used to though given up trying to gold
