Yes. And do a search. This has been talked about several times before. The info you'll find will be very helpful.robertocrxwhich is better,s video or composite video cables.i am now using s video and it looks great. is it worth the upgrade?
Actually, he means component. Composite is the cheap RCA connection that everybody gets with the PS2.Teckademics©composite is what i have and it's pretty good looks just like a flat scren on my pc
LoudMusicYou want your video going through as many different independantly shielded strands of copper as you can possibly get. That's going to be component. One wire per color field.
Solid LiftersIt's two colors, and one luminace, isn't it?
Component video
The three-jack component video connection splits the video signal into three parts (one brightness and two color signals). Component video has increased bandwidth for color information, resulting in a more accurate picture with clearer color reproduction and less bleeding. A growing number of TVs include component video jacks to provide the best possible picture quality (better than S-video or composite video) when connected to a compatible DVD player.
You guys are mixing up RGB and YUV. RGB is a signal made of red, green and blue. YUV, also known as "component", is as described in that article: 1x brightness and 2x colour.LoudMusicWell they're labeled R G B, so I've always assumed they were the three colors that are used to make a picture. And they're being delivered with no interfierance to the display device.
Black95Z28Hey guys! I have a TV with 3 auxillary channels. One compsite, one component, and one S-video. I was planning on purchasing a System Selector so that ALL my consoles will have atleast s-video. My PStwo has component, XBOX has s-video and GameCube has crap composite (I have some S-video cables for it already).
Anyways, back to my question. Do you all think that usuing a system selector would take away from the picture quality? In theroy, since it has to go through the system selector module and into another set of cables (from the system selector to the TV) I always figured somewhere down the line quality was sacrificed. Any ideas, thoughts?
