arguably this new GTA is more technicaly impressive as GT4, as far as PS2 games go.
The map is said to be 5 times bigger than vice city, along with all the other things.
I'm not sure but apparently there is no load time between the different sections of the map like the previous ones.

Yeah, the only loading times are when going into houses, and that's only brief.

For an official gold announcement. Anyone can say the game went gold, so I want to hear it straight from the source. Being an HL2 fan, I should know this :D
 
What does it mean if a game is "gold"? That all the testing and stuff is complette and the final cut is ready to be released? I've never heard a game described as gold before.

Gold = The game is complete, and copies of the game have been sent to factories for duplication.

The term gold comes from the fact that the CDs that are used as the master copies are coated with a layer of gold due to the fact that they are going to be copied thousands, if not millions of times. I'm not sure if there are any 'gold' DVDs.

I think it will be real. I mean, I don't think a site or magazine would post that it is Gold as a lie to get people going, purely for the fact that not many people understand the concept of Gold. Also, Rockstar have had San Andreas completed for a number of days now, so I don't think it's a lie.
 
I believe that's up to the Rockstar people that are working on the editing in their allocated countries. But I believe Gold means that it's finished in terms of the game itself, I believe editing is excluded.

I hope Australia have finished the editing, and I believe they are either doing that now or finished, they may be reviewing it over as we speak. Hopefully.
 
I'm sure they wouldn't say something of that magnitude if it was false.
 
Im glad SA is gold!. Just have to get onto my game store now and make sure my pre-order is still all sweet. I get paranoid sometimes that they'll lose my phone number or something.
 
I very highly doubt that, as you probably do too. It's secure, just get down there as early as you possibly can and get it early.
 
Yeah im just gonna go down there just to make sure and ask them a few questions, also ill be there on the morning of the release date anyway.
 
Yeah, I'm going to take half of the day off from school on the day. I wish we got it on Tuesday like you guys...I have the day off school then.
 
I get all of Friday off (toe operation) and I'm not aloud to walk for 3 days afterwards, so guess what I'll be doing :).
 
Looks very good, and some nice screenshots. Has anyone seen a map of San Andreas yet?
 
Yeah. Go to Rockstar's Official San Andreas Site and wait for the main page to load up the map. Rockstar are generally reknowned for their slow-loading horrible Flash sites, so just wait a bit. Look through some things if you have Broadband, or be patient with 56K like I did for my Los Santos and San Fierro updates.

The Las Venturas map was leaked a while ago (although it was not confirmed to be the Official map by Rockstar, just a "place holder image", we are all 98% sure it's real). If you want the Las Venturas leaked map, I'll send it to you via MSN.
