Actually you could see in the video that the camera hit his helmet. If that is allowed then I'll eat my hat.

The video that was shown on youtube was from behind the photographer and it was certainly not clear from that one that he hit his helmet at all. It would also appear (from looking at numerous forums and news reports) that you are pretty much alone in thinking this.

The photographer got closer than Kimi liked and may have stepped on some of his gear, that's not in dispute here at all.

What is an issue is his reaction, and my point still stands that if just about any other driver had done this they would have been held to account.

I mean the video of the incident has been pulled from youtube at apparently the request of the FIA. Which would appear to suggest that they feel that the incident will make F1 look bad.

Plus, the photographer itself said he won't sue or anything, so if the subject is dead to him why keep talking about it?

The FIA pull almost everything from the current race weekend. Only after a few weeks does anything get on YT and stay there.
