you're an idiot one was built in 1937 and the other was built in 1989 of course the C9 is superior, but the auto union is not crap for a car to hit over 200 in the 1930's is an accomplishment, 240 is sick. if you don't like the car fine, but dont judge it because it desn't handle like current cars, thats like saying omg the model is the crappiest car ever because it only goes 45 mph, lmao you n00b the model T is the grandfather of the modern car production thanks to Mr. Henry ford. God i Hate idiots like you, everything is crap if it doesn't meet your standard, yet you fail to analyze the significance of something, the auto union was going as fast some aircraft from its time and even faster than some, did you ever even try the car at the nurbugring where it shows how good it is? no you decided because it sucks at tsukuba it sucks every else. you're comparing two things from completely different eras, different technological states and different purposes, you sir are a moron for even calling it crap compared to the C9. 👎.

It went to over 260 MPH on the Autobahn I believe. 👍 In the 1938 car Bernd Rosemeyer got it to 270, but after that acheivement a crosswind came along and somersaulted the car, instantly killing the driver, sadly. What was truly amazing about these Streamliners from Auto Union and Mercedes, was that they were faster than the American land speed efforts on the salt flats, with far less horsepower. They were the pioneers in streamlined aerodynamics, which can seen be into effect on even the Opel Corsa. Before the Silver Arrows, cars were shaped like bricks. (And some still are bricks, amazingly  )

Personally I think the Sauber handles better than the 88C-V, and is also smoother in power delivery. Plus it won Le Mans. 👍

you're dumb you took my entire post out of context, and used one sentence to "TRY" to sound smart.... it failed.

Gee, you must be pissed off at everyone. I was making fun of the retard who called the auto union streamliner ****ty. Not you. FYI, I am indeed smart, so piss off.

there are so many cars hiting that speed on Le Mans in that time, the Jaguar XJR-9 even went to 400 km/h.

yea, I know that, many cars did, when there weren't any chicanes.
I mentioned the C9 about this because this car had one of the fastest speeds ever recorded on the Mulsanne straight. I think it had the 2nd or 3rd
fastest speed ever on the straight. I dont know the name of the other car, I think it was a porsche prototype (is it the 917?) that had the fastest speed on the straight, Im not sure.

Yea the XJR9 went about 220mph on the straight, many cars did. But the C9 just rocketed in '89
However, I dont think the 88V-c (Minolta???) ever even came close to 240mph in real life. Thats why I think the C9 should be the fastest prototype in GT4

You might be referring to the Porsche 917 Long Tail of 1970/71? First car to run an average speed of 150 MPH around La Sarthe. Over 240 MPH top speed. They broke down often though, the 917K was more stable and reliable.

I think it was Peugeot that was the first to break the 250 MPH mark on Mulsanne...In '88 or '89...

Although the Minolta Toyota 88C-V is one of my fave cars, I voted for the Sauber Mercedes C9. I've driven a lot on the Nurburgring with both cars, and I think the Sauber just handles better (on the Nurburgring). I think the Sauber is more stable than the Minolta Toyota. But it can be my set up, I'm not good at setting up a car at all, so I just race with the default set ups, and I only change the ASM Oversteer, I turn that to 2, so the car steers in better. And of course I have Qualifying Tyres. Because I mainly do Free Runs with them. My best time with the Sauber atm at the Nurburgring is 6m22 (stock version, only ASM Oversteer on 2 and Qualifying tyres) while my best time with the Minolta is 6m34-37 or so (but haven't played GT4 for 2 months or so now). For me, the Sauber just handles better. With the Minolta, at high speeds, I fly around the circuit in all directions, except the good one. Hehehe..:p

And at the fast part just before the little Caroussel Corner (right after the Eiskurve, the Pflanzgarten KM17, through Sprunghugel) I can go full throttle with the Sauber, but if I do that full throttle with the Minolta, I crash into the wall. So, it's the Sauber for me.:)

On Nurburgring GT mode I did 5'01.236 with the Minolta 88C-V and 5'05.999 with the Sauber C9 so I guess the Minolta 88C-V is just a little bit faster than the Sauber C9, but the Sauber C9 handles better.

Yeah, I noticed that yesterday too. The Toyota *seems* to be faster around the Nurburgring, but it is an absolute handful. I can drive the Sauber almost as fast with much less effort.

I have neither, but I choose the C9, mostly because I raced against both today and I think the C9 is a gentleman driver, passing very cleanly, whereas I'm not sure where the Minolta got his licence as he liked to try and punt me off at the first corner of Tokyo 246 at every opportunity he got ...

I don't have the sauber but i voted on it while I have that terrible alien minolta.

I started formula gt twice this week, and i had problems with the auto-save feature. I just wanted to race with a friend with the pontiac gto. I turned in the options auto-save off (I thought I were puttin it off) and just went to arcade mode while i was in race 5 of the formula gt. After that, i turned the ps2 back on, and found out that it still had autosave on, because i couldn't go further in the tournament. Then I was like, ''yeah, i should've done something wrong since the auto-save is back on.'' So I just did the first two races again, and after goin to the gt-mode menu (for auto-save) I shut the ps2 off. Next day I turned it on again, and I still had thesame amount of money as last time, and I couldn't continue with the tournament, and i was like ''WTF!?'' and really frustrated and things. So now, I put autosave back on, start the formula GT AGAIN, and if my friend comes along again, I'll just play another game.

When it says you turn auto-save off, it's referring to the game automatically saving after races and licence tests. The game automatically saves when you get in a new car to prevent you from buying one, testing it, finding it's bad, and selling it, as well as preventing "free" testing.

Nothing can be done about this.

Do you race?

Au contraire! You can buy a car, NOT get in (it won't autosave if you do this), go to arcade mode and drive it for free. (Just be sure that you don't save anywhere along the way :)) You can't modify it of course, but you can get a sense of how good the car is.

Is it me or does the Minolta shake a lot when traveling along a straight. Its very shaky and the handleing is therefore too sensative.

Thats wat the car is like or is it the settings? if its the settings tell me how to make it more stable.

I aint got the Sauber yet and until i get my wheel i aint gonna even be attempting the dreaded Formula GT so no Sauber for me yet :indiff: 👎

This is ridiculous. I think people are voting just to keep it even, not what they acctually agree on.
Its a shame because i would have wanted to know which one was REALLY better...

I voted for the Sauber C9 because IMO it's the coolest looking of the group C cars and handles better than the 88C-V. I also HATE how overpowered and unrealistic the 88C-V is in GT4. But it's just a game, so I live with it.

Its not really a BIG difference if one is better than the other, they are both great cars, just some different opinions. I beleive the C9 is faster and better, but someone else will say the 88C-v. Just try for your self which is better from your point of view.

i used to use the 88C for B-spec. A-spec racing it was a pain in the arse. i use the C60 instead, and im working on getting that C9!

I think some people here display their opinion on tuned cars, whereas the true image is only shown when the cars are compared in their stock versions. Of course with your own settings though...
I voted C9, simply because it handles better. The 88-CV should be compared to the Nissan R92-CP in terms of speed and handling, but thats only my opinion.
