When will PD fix this problem and allow us to save the game while racing an endurance series race?

I have yet to do the 9 hour and both 24 hour races because:

A) I don't have that much time all at once to waste!

B) I don't want to leave my game on pause for days on end! What if the power goes out and your at 23 hours into a race?

C) I would not be able to do other things with my PS3 during this pause. Like Netflix and God forbid, play "other games"!

Man up PD! Fix this!

PD is finalizing the mid-race saving, as stated on one of the news headlines on this site (I'll try to find it).

EDIT: Got them:

https://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-5-mid-race-saves-under-development/ <-- This one declares that the feature is "under development". But this headline is posted in well over a month ago.

https://www.gtplanet.net/gt5-update-coming-august-29th-features-content-to-follow/ <-- This one hints that it could be released in October or later in September.

Just wait patiently and try to do other activities 👍

Nobody knows the exact date that this feature will be implemented. .

September & October were the months that Kaz stated that new " Features & Content " were coming.

Hang in there , you'll wake up one day soon & have some new things to do with GT5.....

But like I say , exact dates for these are unknown.

^ like in GT4, I honestly like that B-spec better, then having them separated. I've yet to do the 24 hour races. I've only done he 9hr.

Yep GT4's b-spec was better implemented
than GT5. I've done the b-spec enduro's, and only have the last 3 a-spec enduro's to go, Hoping for 4 hrs game save during pit and collaborated help from b-spec drivers. 24 hrs of driving by my self is not something I'm to keen on.

I'm sure they will very soon.

:odd:

Define "soon". It's something that should have been there on November 24, 2010, but almost a year later it still isn't here. Something like this really shouldn't be coming out a year or more after the game is released. PD doesn't know how to do "soon".

"But people shouldn't be impatient!" the GTFDL is about to say. Waiting a full year after release isn't impatient, but rather the patience of Job. Games aren't supposed to take additional years after release to get fixed, and players shouldn't need to wait that long. Regardless, in the real world players don't normally spend several years playing a game, but rather play it for X-amount of time and move on. If a few tens of thousands of players continue playing several years down the road, that's negligible compared to the several million who bought it and moved on.

We wouldn't expect to pay for the construction of a new house but then to have to wait a year or more after moving into the house before the roof is finished. "Be patient and eventually your house will have a finished roof." We wouldn't expect to go to a car dealership and drive off in a brand new car and a year later be told, "Don't worry, your windshield is almost here." We wouldn't buy furniture and expect to wait twelve months for the legs to arrive. Thusly, it isn't at all impatient to expect game features to arrive in a timely manner and that a year or more after release isn't at all timely.

Well said! They really need to address this problem! We can only hope that it is in one of the coming updates!

Imagine if games consoles were like the PS1\PS2 still....with no internet connection....maybe there wouldn't be the 'ah we'll just patch it later' mentality that soooo many developers are guilty of nowadays. Makes me feel sorry for those who have GT5/PS3 and no internet connection. 'I've bought this game with x bugs in it, and it is basically unplayable until I start a 12 month internet connection plan costing x amount.' EDIT: I am not on about GT5. It is playable from the get-go, and I loved it when it first appeared. Just keeps getting better when they add stuff.
Granted, there are plenty of people with internet connections that others could borrow to update, but that is beside the point.
Without the internet, Gran Turismo 5 would have been designed differently from the moment the guys at PD decided to start work on it.
Rant over XD

That is more or less the truth about game-developing nowadays ... and sadly, GT5 happens to be the best example of it... :ouch: the game by itself is good, but compared to other GT's... is a disaster, and an epic failure... :scared:

I'm afraid by the time this feature makes it's appereance... I'll be playing Resistance 3... with no intentions of going back to GT5 for a long, long time...

September or October. ;)

They don't actually have to do it at all if they don't want to. This feature was only discussed by PD as there was a demand for it.

I have a demand list for GT5 too , but I will be grateful for whatever updates they give to us.

GT5 in it's current iteration is the best console driving sim that has ever been released. Not having an A-Spec save race feature will never change my opinion on that.

👍

How is the best selling PS3 game of all time a failure?
Sony forced PD to release the game early to hit the stores for Christmas sales , I thought everyone knew that. Kaz wanted another 2 YEARS before this game was released . So would you have been happy with that instead ? Of course not , I can tell you're just bored of GT5 and a save race feature doesn't interest you.....

Resistance 3 will be lucky to have you.

I think MoLiEG has a point. There are VERY few games that I can say I've kept playing nearly a year after their release. I don't do online gaming very often (a quick blast at Resistance 2 now and then, and maybe a GT5 drift room once in a while), but GT5 keeps me coming back from drip feeding OCD updates, seasonals etc. Any other games I have like Uncharted 2, Shift 2 etc I have played for about a month then they just sit in my drawer.
GT5 has massive amounts of playability for me. Easily the best value for money game I have ever bought,BUT there are other games that I will give my time to (resistance 3 and BF3 are on top of my list), and maybe if I give the multiplayer any attention, GT5 will end up in the 'drawer'.

i think the problem is elsewhere, in Le Mans you should drive no more than 3 hours in a row and a maximum of 8 hours a race, so you need 3 drivers in 1 car, yes im telling that will be much funnier to have teams unveiled in the endurance races. And that Save feature of course too.
This team feat would be usefull in all other races, new motivation for someone ?
