ROAD_DOGG33J24 hours is almost impossible. With school if I got 3 hours a day, I would have to race 8 days. I guess I will have to leave it for summer and maybe I can get three 8 hour sessions. Maybe if I'm crazy I will go for it in 2 days. I don't like this, because I usually do the endurances earlier in the game.
Sleep + School gets me maybe 18 or so hours to just let the thing sit and run itself out, so even on normal speed I'll be able to get several races done without missing a beat. I'll just have to find a car that will be sure to win on pace 3 with several 80km/h bits...05_StangI saw that too Sven. The thing is when ever you pit in it goes back to normal speed. So even if it pits automatically you wont get as far as you would if you had just been sitting there watching it. Then again it doesn't really matter if your sleeping.
But on another note I'm pretty sure every pit in gives you a full tank of gas automatically but what about tires and oil? If they do full service it might be a good idea if you where 4-5 laps ahead and could risk going 80km/h for a lap but if it happened alot you might also screw yourself and if it doesn't auto pit you might screw yourself. or if it does auto pit and doesnt change the tires or oil you might screw yourself.
N.J.24 Hours straight sitting in front of a screen - they can't be right, thats ridiculous (and not healthy ie. Food, fresh air, toilet etc. etc.)
It this IS the case - I'd suggest that everyone get over at least 4 friends to help. (ie. one person do four hours, next person does 4 hours etc. etc. just like real 24 hour races....still very stupid though)
I don't care how good GT4 - and its going to great I know - I'd never do it.
a. Don't have the time.
b. Even if I had the time, I wouldn't sit in front of a screen for 24 hours straight. Like I said earlier, its unhealthy!
I just can't believe that this would be the case.
StuneIts actually worse for the new ps2s becouse they dont have big exaust fans at the back helping them to cool down. They actually say having them on for more than 10 hours in warm weather conditions isnt to be recondoned, they automaticly shut down if they get to hot, to stop them form overheating all together
1twojayDon't be so stubborn. Once you start you won't stop until your eyeballs roll out
MajarvisThat's why you get a buddy, and take shifts doing it. Take for example the Nurburgring 24 hours, every, let's say 2-4 pit stops you switch drivers, go take a cat nap, and then go at it again.
This is true, however, I would qualify myself (assuming you can qualify for that race) presumably get pole (since I know the track off by heart not only from GPL, but also PGR2, so I wouldn't need to learn it like a brand new track, just perfect it), do the opening stint, and hand it off to my friend, who is also of about the same skill level as me, so I would feel at ease with him driving.MrktMkr1986Sounds like a good idea, but I wouldn't trust anyone else's driving skills (in the game, that is) but my own.
SaintKamusyou forget the REASON why the new slim PStwo don't have a fan... it's because they run so cool, they don't need one, they run on a smaller process, at the same speed the old ones did.. this means, less leakage, a lot less, id be very surprised if they got hotter than the old PS2 chips that had a fan.
If you put a bunch of working electronical devices in a box and put a teenie tiny fan inside (IE psTwo) and then you put another bunch of working electronical devices in a box and put a large fan inside (IE ps2) the ps2 will run cooler than the psTwo under heavy load. Regardless of this, I will still have a fan behind mine blowing cool air to keep the temps down.SaintKamusyou forget the REASON why the new slim PStwo don't have a fan... it's because they run so cool, they don't need one, they run on a smaller process, at the same speed the old ones did.. this means, less leakage, a lot less, id be very surprised if they got hotter than the old PS2 chips that had a fan.
PlopperI've been thinking, durin a championship race if you quit out of it the game won't let you do anything on the world map, like tune your car of get in another one in your garage, and askes would you like to return to the championship and continue from the next race.
Now has anybody tried this durin' the 24 races?
Can somebody with access to the Enduros try this, (I'm only 5.5% in and can't try it myself), start a race, do a few laps then quit out, with auto save on the game should save your progress, reset the machine, then try doing something and see if the "can't do anything" warning message comes up and returns you to the race??? Or try going back to the race through the race menu screens???
I'm hoping that may work???
StuneIts a long shot but somone should try it

Now, when GT3 first came out, I used to sit there literally all day and play it (true, I was young, had no job, no girlfriend, so I could afford to do so) but now, I have a job, go to university, have a girlfriend, however, I am going to MAKE TIME to do the 24 hour race at Nurburgring, in A-Spec mode, just because it will be even that more special. The other 24 hour races I can deal with doing in B-Spec mode (except maybe Le Mans) but I am definitely doing the 'Ring in A-Spec![]()
