Alright! ...... " Now Let's Get it on!"

lol I'll send you a pm tonight to arrange everything

... the SCCRLC (Super Car Challenge Racing League Commission ... ie ME!)

Hey Mr SCCRLC there is a doubt I would like You to clarify(as ironic this might seem to some people:guilty: ):

Do the GTP OLR rules apply in this League?
Because I think this might not be obvious to some of the participants:grumpy:

A:
Whether or not you are using your registered GT Planet (GTP_Tag) Online name you are expected to follow these rules accordingly:

...

B:
Two wheels (except when airborne, where the vertical projection of the car onto the track counts) must be in contact with the track/circuit which includes the rumble strips and footpaths, but not grassed areas.

...

E:
Curbs, sidewalks/pavements are not part of the track unless otherwise stated in the Race Specifics section of any given event.

F:
Tarmac/Asphalt or any other kind of surface mentioned above that are situated beyond the normal limits of the track, Run-off areas for example, are not part of the track unless otherwise stated in the Race Specifics section of any given event.

?

Yes, normal racing rules apply. In particular, if you knock someone off the track (or think you may have), wait for them to regain their position. As the racing is one-on-one, this is an obvious point.

It took 8 months for Stanley to trek over 11,000Kms in order to find Dr. Livingstone. I bet you he would have loved to find a shortcut! :)

You mean not metric?

Well, if one defines a woman as being "not man", then the british system can also be defined simply as "not metric", but I think they call it "imperial" :D

Come on Mario. You and I even share the same currency! None of that British bullsh.. sorry bulldog here!!

I knew that :) but my honest question stands though, do you guys use kms instead of miles to measure distance? I thought you used miles (feet, yards, all that stuff)

You're forgetting the Celtic blood too:)

Shhh ... Both my father's family and my mother's family are from the North, but my beard is pitch black, I think I have arabs in my ancestry also! :p

We could set up a joint Irish/Portuguese football team. How about Lusitanians United!

Done,though I think it won't be that successful:dopey:

So You're out of the team...only tall blonds are admissible!
Err...wait I guess that excludes me too:dunce:

It's been many years since I was in Ireland. But at the time, distance was measured by how many sheep one passed on the way.

Before or after you dye it? :sly:

I can think of a few who don't.

But that's OK, I understand you're proud of your beard there, Sampson. ;) I'm sure some ladies find it incredibly, sexy.

That's the reason so many drivers fell asleep at the wheel! Shame on those who blamed the drink!!

Actually, for many years both systems of measurement were in operation so the likes of roadsigns and car's speedos would include the distances in both miles and kilometres. That changed in 2005 and since then only the kilometres are shown.

You'll still get some of the oldtimers (like myself) trying to work out things like how many miles you might get from a litre of fuel!

yeah, yeah, well I suspect they should've kept themselves to beard dyeing ... anyway, they gave us the ... HOTTEST (literally :sly: ) Ford GT in this year's Le Mans

Notice how HOT that car was

No doubt about it, Gachnang is 'smoking' hot. :D But one has to feel (badly) for the woman. She broke her pelvis in this car back in Abu Dhabi when she suffered a brake failure and smashed head on into the barriers. A few months later, and not yet fully recovered, she was almost burned alive at Le Mans when this happened. If you noticed as she's trying to stop, she had the wheel turned to the right but the car is skidding toward the wall and she had to crawl out on the passenger side. I remember watching this live and fearing the worst. I think they were running 3rd or 4th in class at the time as well.

FWIW, I'm still in my 30s and almost completely grey. :(

EDIT:

Update on Biggles vs Arvore challenge:

After Biggles arranged some time on his busy weekend to do our races we met at 11.00 GMT.
Biggles suggested the use of the following beautiful babe which I immediately accepted:

Awesome ,hee?
Albeit all my efforts(and my female representatives) I couldn't convince him to allow the breaking zones:indiff::sly:
He chose Spa,Vallelunga and Virginia.I chose Mugello and Hockenheim...
After a 5 lap warm up at Nuburgring we went straight on to the real races!
We begun at Mugello where after managing to built a 5 second gap to Peter(probably being to conservative in the breaking points in the first two laps I managed to hold the lead until the finish line for 0,50 secs. with his car quickly closing up on my review mirror:scared:👍
Then we went to VIR where I though it was impossible for me to beat him, because he was always faster than me in this track...but after 4 laps of bumper to bumper very enjoyable, close racing I've managed to out speed him in the exit of Hog Pen draft him in the straight and take the lead :D and hold it to the finish line.
After we raced at Vallelunga(one of my favourite tracks:) ) where I consistently screwed up at Tornantino!:nervous:
Biggles gave no chance and held the lead from the first to the last lap,I would close the gap at Cimini(1&2) to loose it again in that cursed corner...:banghead:
After Biggles had to cook his Risotto and take his memory pills:p ,so we took a break.
Peter returned fortified after eating his world famous, delicious Risotto(only beaten by his "oatmeal raisin cookies") to which he added his secret ancient ingredient that lurks in the family since immemorial times and that is know for enhancing the manhood characteristics, thus racing skills:idea: and he kicked my ass at Spa in a very nice close race where he kept pulling away from me at the renewed Bus Stop Chicane:grumpy:
So we were tied for the Grande Finale at Hockenheim where I though I would have my way due to the practice sessions with the 355 Challenge...but I completely screwed up the braking points and this was the race which we had the greatest gap by the end of the race:dunce:
So in resume Biggles Won and deservedly will take my place in the ranking(just wait for payback old man-just let You win this one in respect for Your advanced age,and fearing You would suffer a stroke if You lost Your first challenge:p:rolleyes::D

I think I should add,now in a more serious note, that it was a very enjoyable racing night and that this is the chance for some of the non regulars in Jeff's events take part in a organized event in SCC without having to worry with the amount of practice they put in:tup:
It's a casual meeting between friends who share the same interest for this outstanding racing game, randomly choose a car and 5 tracks and get things rolling.
I feel that, besides the alien championship, almost everyone can beat anyone in this competition, just being lucky-like tonight our elderly had:ouch:-or with a favorable choice of cars and tracks:tup:
So I expect some of the people who did never joined Jeff's events due to the lack of practicing time to be joining the fun this time.;)

Thanks to arvore for a very fun night of racing - and those photos of the TR250 - my god, what a beautiful car that is!

I didn't actually offer arvore a 5-car choice, we just mutually agreed on the TR. I don't know about arvore, but I'm pretty sure I hadn't driven the TR for 2 or 3 months. This showed in our "warm-up" race where both arvore & myself were absolutely hopeless, driving off the track repeatedly. However, when the actual event started, we both drove pretty consistently, with no major off-track excursions. It was obvious that as time went by, we both became a little more confident with the limits of the car & were able to push a little harder. The racing was close &, in the end, I think it was the risotto & two glasses of wine that made the difference. :)

All-in-all, I feel it was very successful - both of us struggled to "feel" the car around the track, without relying on memorized braking points, which gave the racing the spontaneity I have been aiming for with this racing format. 👍

With regret, I have to remove CarlPKY from the ladder. He has abandoned the PS3 & moved on to the sophisticated world of iRacing. :(

No idea what's happened to Manny. I hope he's OK...

Thanks for the update guys! :) Mario and I have our race later today after the Mexico~Argentina game.

Yeah, thankfully Jeff's european origins mean that he understands our (european) love for football so he accepted to wait until after the game to start our challenge! :D
