SCEE confirms European GT4 launch date

I was in town today and was told by the manager in one of the local GAME stores that they were told this morning that release was now March 18th. He then proceded to try and get me to pre-order it. Good thing I already have :).
 
I got an email update of March 18th from Gameplay.

Gives me a while longer to save up for that shelf I need for the wheel anyway...

There's always a bright side.

why does it say 25th march on gameplay???

That better not be right. Whatever the correct release date is they are well and truely taking the piss now

There has been 2 main dates lately for the UK release, 25th Feb and 11th March. Today I had it confirmed by SCEE to be the 11th March. I don't know where you got your info, went back as far as post 241 without seeing your post. So I think it was reasonable for me post a confirmed release date when I did.

Me too... but it also still quotes a delivery estimate of August 2004!!!

I'm imagining this 11th March date might be the latest evolution for now.

That's very cheap
Below is the price of game in Belgium. That's almost the double!

€ 67.50 EUR = $ 87.67 USD

That may have something to do with the declining value of the dollar. :)

A stupid example. When we still paid with Belgian Francs the price to go to a public toilet was 10 BEF now its 20 BEF (0.20-0.30 euro and now its 0.50 euro)!!!

Yes everything you do here in europe you have to pay.

Again an other example.:)
When I go out to a dancing I park my car @ the parking I have to pay, then the entry I have to pay, vestiaire (place where the jackets, coats hang) I have to pay, drinks I have to pay, when I go to toilet I have to pay. When I go away I have to pay the doorman.

Well, we over here call this country "Rip-off Britain"
 
In spain a cofee costed before 60 cents, know its 1,20 euro... In fact it has gone out today in the newspapers that we have the sharpest price rise of all europe!!! Netherlands has got 20 times less than us... YOU AMERICANS HAVE GOT TO DO SOMETING ABOUT YOUR MONEY!!!!

hehe nevertheless, i dont know why like-sang and many other don't import PAL version...

They are taking the piss out of us, I refuse to buy the game now, considering how long they have taken to make the game all they have done is added 300 cars and 20 tracks in 5 years, well done Polyphony and I know this delay is because of marketing reasons.

You see that's the thing... the United States has no control of the value of its dollar (that's why there is a FOReign EXchange market for currencies). Low interest rates (and subsequently fears of inflation) combined with the huge trade deficit in the US are the main factors contributing to the dollar decline.
T-bonds anyone? :sly:

accually, i think they just like the accomidations they get at E3 and if they can squeeze in one more small delay (no problum for this group) they can get another fun week in sunny LA! Party on Kaz San
