SCEE confirms European GT4 launch date

But then I thought about it a bit more, and realised that I'm a selfish SOB who would want to play it myself ALL WEEKEND, so I might arrange the party for the weekend after, to give me the chance to play the hell out of it first, uninterrupted... Like some other people here, for me the month of February is going to be the longest month in history... :sick:

Then we're ALL selfish SOB's cus I can't imagine someone actually sharing GT4 with others, and March is going to be th SHORTEST month ever :lol:

Driv3r and NFS:U I can understand, but GT3?? Just because you buy the The Beatles' White Album doesn't mean you should give back your copy of Sgt. Pepper... ;)

Incidientally, I gave in and today I have pre-ordered GT4... I too got the (almost comical) forecast of a delivery date of 8th-9th March... still, I too have faith that Amazon will get it to me before I'd get it in the high street...
 
There will be enough copies for all but i'm going to be at the shop early! ANd when you get it early you can start gaming early :)

Why GT3? I don't play it anymore...and have to give it away/change it so I can afford GT4, simple ;)

I just picked up GT3 for 5$ at Gamestop...so I'll doubt you'll get too much for it. But still, I don't see any major point in holding on to it.

Now you mention it, I can't think of a better reason for trading in GT3 if it is to enable the purchase of GT4... that said, I'll be keeping mine for posterity... Now I come to think of it, I got GT2 for half price by trading in a couple of games, although they were NBA '97 and a pinball simulator (I always regretted giving that away!)
 
Well , only if I get 20$ for those game I'm happy since I can afford GT4 easily.
I want to keep GT3 but need to afford GT4 :indiff:
 
As long as you not delete your save game from GT3 and GT4P is no problem.

I rented GT4P, play the game out and brought it back but I have the saved game, thats the most important, because I know you could "cheat" with it by GT4 :)
 
For the people that've got a Toys'nRus shop or something nearby, they don't care about the release date (I've heard) and sell it as soon as they have the game in supply, because I've heard the stores probably have the game already before the release date, it should be aroubd 3 days earlier :D:tup:
 
toys us or any other store for that matter can not release a game, movies cd, book whatever before the release date. theres a reason the boxes come in with street dates on them. its a $10000 fine of each offense if caught. meaning each game sold they can and will be fined $10000. the game will be out the same date at any store, any where in the country. its the law. not to say some stores might not get it in time for the release or something and they will put it out later. but it will not be on shelves anywhere before the release date. you cant get it even if you work there. and if anyone works at a place like this they should know this too.

Yes, I waited for GT3 until it was a Greatest Hit. However I wont that long this time.

I don't know, I've only heard it..............BUT in all my desperate actions I'll do for GT4, I WILL go to Toys'n Rus just out of pure hope my.......prairs will be anwsered by GOD!! (I don't believe really and I know he can't do this otherwise he WOULD have done that already........maybe he did:dunce:......mmmmmmm........ NO INSULT TO ANYONE OFFCOURSE) But you get the point

Would you mind quoting said law and letting us know the locality that you are in? I am in the USA and I know there is no law stating that if someone sells GT4 a couple days before Sony says to sell it then the store will get fined.

That is not to say that there are not contractual obligations that each store has to live up to in order to buy the games from Sony/their distributor. I have not seen such contracts, but if they are smart they will write-in some form of penalty for breaking street date. Their penalty may in fact be $10000 per instance, or it could be some other form of penalty – such as you will not get copies of our next game before the street date. I do know that there are not going to be any cops down at my local toys r us handing out tickets to someone because they sold GT4 before Sony wants them to.

I just went down to GAME and pre-order it.
Me : Can I pre-order GT4?
The guy : Yes , sure.
Me : Is that right that you can change in two games and get GT4 for 30$ then?
The guy : Yes, but not all games.
Me : I have 2 games with me , driv3r and nfs:u.
The guy : Driv3r is Ok but nfs:u won't make the 30$ but you can put in 5$ and you got it.
Me : Yeah, that won't hurt.
The guy : Fine.

And then GT4 was finally pre-ordered. And I aslo asked him if I can pick up the game on 9th March and he said YES! :D
