You're talking about the same people that converted Scion tC's to RWD for drifting. I'm sure they didn't have much of a problem making it fit. :)

And yes, Supra 2JZ.

Fredric Aasbo will be piloting an FR-S in Formula D starting in July. 2JZ power plant.
URUS is going to put an 2JZ for their D1 car.

Talked to Scion dealer today, they got one on the lot a couple days back, planning to head up there this week (hopefully for a drive). If the car is really as impressive as some say, I will seriously consider dropping the Hatch Sti for a Coupe FRS. My only concern is it being a first M.Y. and the usual problems associated with first gen models.

Hoping to finally get a go in a BRZ on Thursday - Subaru is coming to a multi-manufacturer test day in the UK and they'll have an example there. When I'm done with getting photos and videos of the "green" stuff I'm going straight over to the Subaru stand...

Well, I failed hard.

300 journalists, eight hours, one BRZ. You do the math.

Fully booked. On the plus side, they said they might be able to lend me one for a few days, albeit not for two or three months thanks to the demand. Apparently, they're having a real job keeping up with customer demand so press cars are thin on the ground. Don't really need the press when you're selling them by the bucketload...

Expected. S2000 weighs very little more but has more torque and 40 more horses. I dig the launch though lol.

I'd say that's a bad run for the BRZ as well.
15.7 in the 1/4?
I'd expect to see 15.3 maybe but not 15.7. Something about that tells me we may see the BRZ end up like the Civic Si and show a variety of times. :indiff:

Our shop car was back on the ground last night. Had been down all week so that we could get a clutch made for it. Everything is back together and she's rolling now. So far I think we've got a header, cat-back exhaust, midpipe, clutch, rear suspension pieces and some carbon fiber bits.

He isn't a tall guy, and this picture gives you a good idea how low the car actually is.

These testers must suck bad. With proper launch BRZ/86 is under 15sec (I think 14.7 was in the fastest in one of Japanese videos), and S2k should be even faster.

Yeah, it's pretty small. Doors are loooong though, must park right in the middle of the garage not to bang on stuff.

You guys will like this :sly:

Came out 15 minutes ago ;) (full carbon body kit )

TANAGUCHI is the man :D

Stage 1 with all aids switched on, stage 2 with VSC (vehicle stability control) in sport mode and stage 3 with VSC switched off.

Are those tires really that bad in the wet?

I wonder if Tire Rack will use an 86 for testing.

Not sure it's entirely the tires - skid pads are low friction even before they're soaked, and the layer of water is usually at the aquaplaning level anyway. Expect most cars would behave the same in those conditions.

Maybe it's the weight of the car. Seems like most other sports cars handle it a lot better.

Maybe someone in here can answer this for me.

The Modellista kit for this car, anyone know where I can get more info on the company? Is it a Toyota brand? Trying to list their stuff on our site and don't know where to start.

Yeah I got all that info, I'm looking for info on the company itself. As far as I can tell they are a Toyota branded company? Parts sold at Toyota dealers in Japan...

The parts will be available here apparently. (so I'm told) We have a supplier, not sure where they are getting them.

I took my BRZ to see how the car behaves to an empty parking lot right after a heavy rain. So pretty wet, but not as much standing water as on that skid stretch. You do have to watch your steering/throttle inputs in the first two gears with TCS/VSC off. If you're jerky it's easy to end-up ass-backwards.

Last I remember him saying he had a line on one but no money had been transferred. I've seen his screen name on several forums though while looking for info so I had a feeling he was 100% committed.
