Depends on the car. Some cars gain absolutely nothing, some gain something. 7 whp is believable... depending on the engine... and not too wild a claim.
 
I'd say they had perfect conditions for their dyno run with the axleback and poor conditions for the baseline run.
 
Either that or they just switched up the compensation factor on the software to bloat the numbers. They are trying to sell an axle-back here. Gaining that much power on a 2-liter piston engine is about right given a cat-back which removes the second converter but certainly not for an axle-back.
 
The Toronto Subaru Club had a nice little springfling 2012 meet this past Saturday and I went along with some friends. Subaru Canada was nice enough to bring a BRZ to the event.

Look's great and seem's perfectly sized. If I didn't already have my heart set on a certain car I'd definitely consider this as a next car purchase.

I'm waiting on the new Miata before I make my final decision. It'll be a year or two before I can get anything though.
 
I'm throwing both my miatas in the dumpster when I get my FR-S, someone has already called dibs.

Saw a white BRZ today, looked pretty sharp. 👍
 
I'd be interested in the Agency header and header-back (no cats I assume) exhaust, but skip their axle-back and run my own single straight pipe out the driver side. Maybe use the same muffler I have on my Rex, the knockoff Spoon, because I love the burnt and rolled tip.

They're currently working on aluminum pulleys for the engine. No idea if they are underdrive.

Edit: NOT an underdrive pulley, just a lightweight aluminum one. Difference in weight is almost 4 pounds.

Just got back from visiting the local scion and checking out the frs and sure enough it was confirmed to me that subby will release a turbo brz next year. :cheers:

Interesting, I wonder why I haven't seen this in any car magazines. It should be quite a car, though.

Magazines are usually behind anyway.

I'll believe this when I see spy shots or an announcement from Subaru. Dealers usually just blow hot air.
 
Spotted my first FR-S on the road last night. They look so great in the flesh! I would do so many terrible things to get one.
 
Swear I've seen several of these on the road here in the states already...
 
I saw an FR-S yesterday. Wow, they did a great job styling them. I do prefer the FR-S' styling to the BRZ's. I wonder, do yinz think it would be possible to swap the front fascia of a BRZ with that of an FR-S?

Drove on today. A black FR-S. I wish I made enough money to buy one.

What it really made me wish though, is that Mazda would step up their game and either offer the next MX-5 with a coupe body style, or build another RX-7 in the spirit of the first generation RX-7. That's what I really want.

The FR-S feels so intangibly special in person. I've never liked how they photograph, but my word they are pretty in person. Especially in black. Only thing I didn't like was how low the steering wheel felt, but it might be adjustable.

You'll also need to change the headlights, because the BRZ and the FR-S lights are shaped slightly differently.

Well, the Subaru seems to be the better car because it is better equipped and has slightly softer suspension. The FR-S/86 is set up with harder damping so that it is easier to drift, but it makes it a bit harder to drive close to the limit and doesn't ride as well.
