You think the interior feels cheap? I thought it felt good. Sporty. The only the thing was that dinky cup holder. I thought that was a little weird. I'd rather they put a legit arm rest.

Yeah. Subaru doesn't do arm rests, they do optional arm rests.

It's not like I'm used to great interiors but for the money, I'm expecting something that feels at least on par with a darn Honda Fit. Both have plenty of hard plastic but apparently, not all hard plastics are created equally.

The touch points didn't feel horrible, steering wheel was nice, auto shifter not really nice, seat was nice, top of the gauge pod not so nice.

I'm still not sure I liked the seating position. When I got in the car, the seat was too high, hair touching the headliner, but the rest felt fine. Good visibility, foot box felt nice, everything is reachable, distance to steering wheel just right, elbows bent just at the right angle. But once I lowered the seat an inch or two, it sort of fell apart.

Take what you want from what I'm saying. I didn't adjust the steering wheel at all just the seat position. I went straight for the things that bothered me about the wrx/sti and didn't pay much attention to anything else.

I hope I can swing by again next week to spend more than 15 seconds with the car but they might not have it anymore. Though they sounded pretty sure that once the cars are available, getting test drives and seeing them regularly shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I thought the interior was great.

I'm generally not picky though and it's certainly better than my Cobalt POS.

Some pics/video of the Greddy FR-S in a couple days.

It's not a $25k interior.
I've never cared too much about interiors or looks/aesthetics, for that matter. Would drive a rust bucket if the car "spoke" to me.
I'm not sure why they've been bothering me for the past year or so.

The hell? Is your body that of a star-bellied Sneetch?

Lux to sport ratio does not support a brz at 25k with lux interior. System error, luxury does not compute.
I wonder how eszee feels about the hyundai genesis interior.

I haven't sat in an S2000 for probably 3 years, but didn't they have leather on everything?

I think so but alcantara is popular for more than just being usable on both sides. I believe it costs and weighs less than leather.
The feel isnt bad either, Id have to question the opinion of anyone who isnt satisfied with alcantara throughout a 25k sportscar.

Ditto. All the important bits - seats, steering wheel, shifter, pedals - all had the right feel to them, and all felt in the right position.

Didn't even think it felt cheap for a £25k car, as it'll be in the UK, let alone a $25k car. Suspect it makes up for in build quality what it lacks in the feel of some plastics.

I'm biding my time until all the big UK mags have had their fill, and then I'm going to book one in for a week. I need one in my life.

That's absolutely revolting...

There you go Toyota, do a convertible FT or sit and watch the freak show that is to come. What's gonna be?

I saw it up close. The fabrication is top notch but it is certainly questionable. Scion had the first 86 owners there this weekend to watch Ken Gushi debut the Greddy FR-S. He did alright.

Being that it's a custom shop, it's reasonably overboard. A factory convertible would look good with normal windows on the side and a moveable roll bar.

The 'convertible' would look about ten times better without the stupid wing and the tacky paintjob. Put some better rims on it and change the side windows, and it might be bearable.

Exactly. If it were like that, with a "pop-up tent" style roof like what the old Murciélago Roadster had, I'd be totally fine with it. That way you can do without the extra weight and other compromises of a folding roof, while still sticking to "spartan" ideals.

When they were showing it did they say anything on what it was?

And if you don't mind me asking- Why were you at the first 86 owners event?

It was just sitting at the Scion tents so I looked it over.

Not sure where you heard that but it wasn't really a "owners event". Scion gathered those 86 lucky people at the Formula D Long Beach drift event (pictured above), probably so they could watch Gushi run the FR-S for the first time. My brother bought VIP tickets a couple months ago for himself and his girlfriend who didn't end up going, so I took her spot. We were there for Friday practice/qualifying as well as the Saturday event.

Nice photo Azn, your seats were certainly better than ours. Just so everyone knows, if you go to this event in the future do NOT waste your money on the VIP tickets. Seats were crap, the "unlimited" water/tea that was advertized was actually only on Saturday from noon to 2:30, and they were so anal about us sitting in the correct seats that we had some words with the organizers. It wasn't pretty.👎

It was actually my telephoto zoom lens that helped create the illusion that I had a good seat. I was actually on the top row of the main bleachers. The reason why they were so anal about the seats was because all the available seats were sold out and to make sure someone without a seated ticket didn't steal someone's seat, the event security had to check tickets. I was able to get the seat I got by telling the security that I "dropped" my ticket.

Lame/cool.

I don't think comparing sti/wrx/brz and genesis coupe interiors is fair.
Same with the s2000. There's not much there but it's not cheap feeling.

Which $25k sports car mentioned in this conversation has alcantara throughout?
