Looks like little more than a badge job of the Toyota iQ.

I think that car fits more into the Scion lineup than the Toyota lineup in the States, so its probably a good choice. And it doesn't look bad, exactly. Looks just a little bigger than a ForTwo?

Edit: Mileage in the high 30s...Seriously? My Civic Si will do around 32mpg easily...

That has to be a mistake. An auto with the UK 1.3 does 55mpg imperial, which is 45mpg US. So unless Toyota have done something stupid to it, I have no idea where Autoblog have plucked that figure from.

Now why are the quotes in that thread saying they get 72 UK mpg out of the 1L and then they drop a 1.3L in the US model and it does 30s. Are they using a rotary or something?

Imperial gallons are different from US gallons, EU test standards are different from EPA. This has been covered often.

Finally a Toyota product I like. But, that engine is putrid if it has anything less than 40mpg. The only booby price to that "low" 30-ish mpg is that if it has some good BHP to make the car nippy--oh and give me a proper manual transmission too. I'd like to see over 100bhp in this thing. :)

Anyone want to do the Aston conversion with me?

Odd, seems my thoughts have changed a bit. But I still prefer the Smart to this iQ. Still, interesting to read my old posts in that thread. Silly me.

Regardless of that, the 70+mpg was not a rating. That was real world. I don't know the conversion but I'm sure that at least translates to 60+ US MPG.

Mileage is in the 30s because it has a 2JZ that runs the length of the car.

Mounted in the rear and driving the fronts I would presume. It's Toyota after all.
