yes I have and since not so long. Didnt really noticed before but now it's pretty big, mainly on the nurb. Playing on 1080p.

It is more noticeable on city circuits as there are more vertical lines for buildings ect. A tear on a tree would not be as noticeable but is likely still there.

Ya, there's a lot of screen tearing. Although it's a bit less annoying on racing games than any other action game.

i get screen tear also once in a while in my 1080p vizio, and i also get a sound distortion once in a while after i hit a wall or car hard.

You wanna talk sound distortion, do a Kart race at Kart Space (hey that rhymes) The engine sounds keep getting cut out.

I never was even the slightest bit bothered by screen tearing in any game before GT5. In this, right from the start it was all over the place. Not really a big deal, but it's still harder for me to not notice it than in any other game. On an SD TV here. Not sure if the flicker/sharpness option has anything to do with it or not.

For a real tearing treat, just turn on the wipers in a premium from interior view.

What the **** is that screen tearing thing? I see complains about it but...am I stupid or you guys have eagle eyes? (looking forward for first choice :grumpy:)

Why is it a joke? I have not once experienced screen tear on my GT5.

Have you overclocked your ps3? :P

Seriously, I find it very hard to believe that your gt5 somehow does not screen tear whilst everyone else's does.

Weave from side to side on pretty much any track and you'll see evidence of it happening.

There's even a sign on the new spa track which stays low res until it's really close, and then the instant it pops into higher resolution, it tears :) , pretty funny actually.

Is anyone experienceing really bad screen tear on certain tracks mainly city courses?

On 1080p it seems to happen pretty often. Once you notice it, you can't un-see it either and it's very distracting. I have another t.v. though that is 720p, and I don't see to notice the screen tearing nearly as much. It happens, but no where near the frequency it does at 1080p.

His eyes are just not trained to look for it. I'm jealous of anyone who has not been ruined yet by screen tearing. It works a lot like the FedEX logo, once you see it, that's it, you're life is ruined.

It's when the screen breaks in two, and the two broken images move at a different rate, with one lagging behind, causing distortion to the image.

The tearing is there for everyone, others just don't see it and they claim it doesn't exist. GT5 lacks vertical sync, and thus, whenever the framerate drops from 60fps, tearing is likely to occur.

Thank for the explanation 👍 In the pic the effect is insane  but I never "had seen" that...
Damn maybe it's because I use to play games on my crappy laptop that runs Resident Evil 5 on minimum graphics with 20 FPS...don't know...glad I'm still not doomed by this :dopey:

Nope, bone stock. And I swear, it has never screen teared (Or screen tore? No idea :p), unless it happened without me noticing, which is unlikely, since I have OCD when it comes to stuff like that XD

I don't get any and I have a massive fat television which is about 3 foot wide.

As far as GT5 screen tear goes. Two tracks niggle me. The first one is London, There is more tearing on the london track than in the cutting room at Dunelm, the second track is Monza. The first and second corner always has screen tearing and it does distract me a bit, I just guess we have to put up with it until PS4 arrives

Used to have a lot of screen tear but it's not nearly as bad as it used to be.

I hate it! Screen tearing is the most bad thing in GT5 for me... I wish GT5 without tearing and frame drops...

Yea I notice it on London the most.
I dont see how it can bother someone so much.
I never seen it like in that picture that would be very frustrating.

I've done a couple of tests on the bad tracks (for me Suzuka at the end of the lap is one really bad one) using the same car and race, but in different screen resolutions.

1080p has more screen tear than 720p.
1080p has more slowdown than 720p.

Simple answer for the least screen tear use 720p. That's what I'm doing anyway. Plus added bonus, I seem to be going slightly faster with a bit faster frame rate!

That's what I found on my system anyway, but if you read this OLD tech write up from Eurogamer that say the same thing;

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-gran-turismo-5-tech-analysis

They have also done a Forza 4 tech write up which includes some talk about GT5 post 2.0 IIRC which also mentions the screen tear at different resolutions.

There is constant tearing in GT5; even more so when you put the wipers on.

Yep, I get lots of screen tearing that way. But I get screen tearing either way. It mostly happens when I switch directions quickly, e.g. in the AUTOBACS Garaiya. I run in 720p but I get screen tear on 480p as well, but it's a lot less occurring than 720p.

Ever since I bought my new tv which supports 1080p, old one didn't, I notice some of graphical errors in GT5 that I didn't see on old tv. This is not limited to GT5 though. I see it in alot of the games I play. Never really noticed it at 720p or even 1080i.

32inch tv on 1080p, I see it every so often. Certainly not enough to bug me.

I have a 32inch LG lcd at 1080p and I notice it but it is really quick so it's not a huge bug for me either. I guess I see it as a necessary evil considering how great everything looks most of the time, a couple of split second tears every now and then are fine with me.
